Paul Jesperson
Paul Jesperson (born December 2, 1992) is an American basketball player for Unión Financiera Baloncesto Oviedo of the Spanish LEB Oro. He played college basketball for the Northern Iowa Panthers. College career Jesperson attended Merrill High School where he became the schools all-time leading scorer. Jesperson attended the University of Virginia for two years before transferring to the University of Northern Iowa. In an NCAA tournament game versus the sixth-seeded University of Texas Jesperson hit a half-court buzzer beating shot to win the game. The shot was featured in the 2016 edition of One Shining Moment. Freshman season Jesperson averaged 10.5 minutes, 1.5 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game. "One Shining Moment" is a song written by David Barrett that has become closely associated with the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. "One Shining Moment" is traditionally played at the end of CBS's and TBS's coverage of the championship game of the tournament. The song is played as the winning team's players cut down the nets to a montage of highlights from the tournament. History Barrett, a singer-songwriter from Ann Arbor, Michigan, was inspired to write the song in 1986 while watching Larry Bird play on TV at a bar called the Varsity Inn in East Lansing, Michigan, after having played a gig there. The 2016–17 LEB Oro season will be the 21st season of the Spanish basketball second league LEB Oro. Dates must be determined yet. The Maine Celtics (formerly the Maine Red Claws) are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Portland, Maine, and are affiliated with the Boston Celtics.
