Paul Jenkins (actor)
Paul R. Jenkins (August 2, 1938 – July 1, 2013) was an American actor. He appeared in films such as ''Network'' and ''Chinatown,'' and also single appearances in television shows such as ''M*A*S*H'', ''Columbo'', ''Lou Grant'', ''Kojak'', ''The Partridge Family'', and ''Starsky and Hutch''. He appeared three times in the television series ''The Rockford Files'' over the course of its six season run, playing a different character each time. Jenkins is also known for roles such as Professor Parks in ''The Waltons'' and as Eddie in ''Dynasty.'' Biography Jenkins was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1938. He decided to become an actor after deciding he had no vocation to the Priest#Anglican or Episcopalian, priesthood, and, while living in New York City, began performing roles in theater. ''The Secrets of Isis'', originally broadcast as ''Isis'', is an American live-action superhero television series produced by Filmation from 1975 to 1976 for CBS's Saturday morning lineup. The series was renamed ''The Secrets of Isis'' in syndication. The program was the first weekly American live-action television series with a female superhero lead character, debuting on September 6, 1975, predating the weekly debuts of both ''The Bionic Woman'' (January 14, 1976) and ''Wonder Woman'' (April 21, 1976). Elmore Rual "Rip" Torn Jr. (February 6, 1931 – July 9, 2019) was an American actor whose career spanned more than 60 years. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his part as Marsh Turner in '' Cross Creek'' (1983). ''One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'' (1963) is a play based on Ken Kesey's 1962 novel of the same name. Productions Dale Wasserman's stage adaptation, with music by Teiji Ito, made its Broadway preview on November 12, 1963, its premiere on November 13, and ran until January 25, 1964 for a total of one preview and 82 performances. Since then, the play has had two revivals: first off-Broadway in 1971, directed by Lee Sankowich with Danny DeVito as Martini, then as a Broadway production in 2001 with Gary Sinise as McMurphy. ''The Great White Hope'' is a 1967 play written by Howard Sackler, later adapted in 1970 for a film of the same name. The play was first produced by Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. and debuted on Broadway at the Alvin Theatre in October 1968, directed by Edwin Sherin with James Earl Jones and Jane Alexander in the lead roles. The play won the 1969 Tony Award for Best Play and the 1969 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Subsequent touring companies of the play featured Brock Peters and Claudette Nevins in the lead roles. ''Walker, Texas Ranger'' is an American action crime television series created by Leslie Greif and Paul Haggis. It was inspired by the film ''Lone Wolf McQuade'', with both this series and that film starring Chuck Norris as a member of the Texas Ranger Division. The show aired on CBS in the spring of 1993, with the first season consisting of three pilot episodes. Eight full seasons followed with new episodes airing from September 25, 1993, to May 19, 2001, and reruns continuing on CBS until July 28, 2001. ''Night Gallery'' is an American anthology television series that aired on NBC from December 16, 1970, to May 27, 1973, featuring stories of horror and the macabre. Rod Serling, who had gained fame from an earlier series, ''The Twilight Zone'', served both as the on-air host of ''Night Gallery'' and as a major contributor of scripts, although he did not have the same control of content and tone as he had on ''The Twilight Zone''. ''The Twilight Zone'' is an anthology television series which was constructed from September 27, 1985 to April 15, 1989. It is the first of three revivals of Rod Serling's acclaimed 1959–64 television series, and like the original it featured a variety of speculative fiction, commonly containing characters from a seemingly normal world stumbling into paranormal circumstances. Unlike the original, however, most episodes contained multiple self-contained stories instead of just one. The voice-over narrations were still present, but were not a regular feature as they were in the original series; some episodes had only an opening narration, some had only a closing narration, and some had no narration at all. "Dead Run" is the second segment of the nineteenth episode from the first season (1985–86) of the television series ''The Twilight Zone''. This segment is based on the short story "Dead Run" by Greg Bear, first published in '' Omni'' (April 1985). It follows a truck driver who gets a job transporting souls into Hell. Plot Johnny Davis is a truck driver unemployed due to his many accidents. Johnny asks Pete, a friend of his father, for help in getting a job.
