Paul Griffin (basketball)
Paul Arthur Griffin (born January 20, 1954) is an American former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Education and professional career Paul Griffin attended Shelby High School in Shelby, Michigan, a small town in western Michigan near Lake Michigan. Griffin was the integral part on back-to-back class C Boys' Basketball State Championships in 1971 and 1972. Griffin attended Western Michigan University from 1972 to 1976, leading the Broncos to their first NCAA basketball tournament berth in 1976 and an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen. He finished his career as WMU's all-time leading rebounder. Griffin was selected by the New Orleans Jazz in the fifth round of the 1976 NBA draft, where he spent three seasons. He was acquired by the San Antonio Spurs for the 1979–80 season and remained there until the end of his NBA career in 1983. Paul Griffin is an Irish Gaelic footballer. He was educated at Oatlands College, Stillorgan, and University College Dublin, where he graduated in Physiotherapy. He plays for club side Kilmacud Crokes and plays left full-back for the Dublin county team, although he started his Dublin career in the half-back line. He has been one of Dublin's most consistent performers since making his Dublin debut in 2004. He has won the Leinster senior football championship with Dublin on two occasions in 2005 and 2006. Paul Griffin (August 6, 1937 – June 14, 2000) was an American pianist and session musician who recorded with hundreds of musicians from the 1950s to the 1990s. Career Born in Harlem, New York, he began as the touring pianist in the backing band for King Curtis and eventually worked with Bob Dylan, Steely Dan, Don McLean, the Isley Brothers, Van Morrison, the Shirelles, and Dionne Warwick. He may be best known for his colourful and distinctive playing on the Bob Dylan albums ''Highway 61 Revisited'' and ''Blonde on Blonde'', and also on Steely Dan's ''Aja (album), Aja''.
