Paul Gauthier (born 25 November, 1970) is a Canadian retired boccia player who competed in international elite competitions. The sport is contested at local, national and international levels, by athletes with severe physical disabilities. It was originally designed to be played by people with cerebral palsy but now includes athletes with other severe disabilities affecting motor skills. In 1984, it became a Paralympic sport and as of 2020, 75 boccia national organizations have joined one or more of the international organizations. Boccia is governed by the Boccia International Sports Federation (BISFed) and is one of only two Paralympic sports (along with goalball) that have no counterpart in the Olympic program. Alison Kabush (born 2 August 1980) is a Canadian boccia player. She's won two bronze medals at the 2000 Paralympic Games and 2004 Paralympic Games. Career Kabush grew up in Surrey, British Columbia and began playing Boccia with the provincial team at the age of 13. She competed in her first Paralympics during the 2000 Paralympic Games, where she won a bronze medal.
