Paul Futcher
Paul Futcher (25 September 1956 – 23 November 2016) was an English professional footballer who had a distinguished career as a defender in the English Football League, for England under 21s and as manager of several non-league clubs. He is regarded as a club legend by Grimsby Town who signed him at the age of 35 when he was apparently past his best. He went on to be described as one of the club's greatest ever players. Prior to his time with Grimsby he had enjoyed lengthy spells with Luton Town, Oldham Athletic and Barnsley as well as playing for Chester, Manchester City, Derby County and Halifax Town. Maine Road
Maine Road was a football stadium in Moss Side, Manchester, England, that was home to Manchester City F.C. from 1923 to 2003. It hosted FA Cup semi-finals, the Charity Shield, a League Cup final and England matches. Tommy Booth
Tommy Booth (born 9 November 1949) is an English former footballer who played in the Football League for Manchester City and Preston North End, and was capped four times for England at under-23 level. Booth was born in Middleton, Lancashire. He began his career with Manchester City, signing amateur forms in 1965, turning professional in 1967, and making his Football League debut on 9 October 1968 in a 1–1 draw at home to Arsenal. He played in the centre of defence, winning FA Cup, European Cup Winners' Cup and two League Cup winners' medals. He played 382 times for City in the League between 1968 and 1981, scoring 25 goals. In September 1981 he moved to Preston North End for £30,000. At Deepdale he made 84 appearances between 1981 and 1984, scoring twice, before injury forced him to retire during the 1984–85 season. Graham Futcher
Graham Futcher (born 15 June 1953) is a former professional footballer who played in the Football League his hometown club Chester. He is best known as the oldest of three brothers to play for the club during this period. A forward, Futcher came through Chester's youth ranks and made his first-team debut as an 18-year-old in a Football League Cup tie against Tranmere Rovers in August 1971. His Football League debut followed two months later at Cambridge United, the first of ten appearances over the next two seasons. Futcher played his last game for Chester in a 1–0 defeat at Lincoln City in March 1973, two weeks before younger brother Paul made his debut for the club. Cambridge United Football Club is a professional association football club based in the city of Cambridge, England. Ron Futcher
Ronald Futcher (born 25 September 1956) is an English former footballer who played as a centre-forward. He was the fourth highest career scorer of the North American Soccer League, and made over 400 appearances in total for nine different English Football League clubs. He was noted for his aerial ability and solid ball control. He began his career at Chester, before moving on to Luton Town the following year. He signed with Manchester City in August 1978, but left Maine Road the following year to concentrate on his career in the United States with the Minnesota Kicks. After the club disbanded he moved on to Portland Timbers and then the Tulsa Roughnecks, winning the Soccer Bowl in 1983. The next year he returned to England with Barnsley, following a brief spell with Dutch side NAC Breda. He signed with Oldham Athletic in 1985, and then transferred to Bradford City in 1987.
