Paul Dorrington
Paul Dorrington is an English guitarist and bassist best known for his 1991-1995 tenure in The Wedding Present. Dorrington joined Sheffield group AC Temple in 1985,Strong, Martin C. (2003) ''The Great Indie Discography'', Canongate, , p. 193, 567 and recorded ''Rorschach Blot Test'', a live compilation album featuring The Dustdevils and Kilgore Trout. In 1988 he formed Tse Tse Fly with Mark Goodrham and future Wedding Present and Cinerama guitarist Simon Cleave. In 1991, Paul Dorrington joined The Wedding Present on guitar, recording '' The Hit Parade 1'', ''Hit Parade 2'' and '' Watusi'' albums before leaving in 1995. AC Temple
A.C. Temple were an alternative rock band from Sheffield, England, formed in 1985. They released four albums before splitting up in 1991. History The band were formed in 1985 by guitarist Noel Kilbride (guitar) and Neil Woodward (bass) with Jayne Waterfall (drums) and vocalist Dave Giles. Andy Hartley (bass) joined the following year with Jane Bromley taking over vocals. Chemikal Underground is an independent record label set up in 1994 at Glasgow, Scotland by rock band The Delgados. It was set up to release their first single, "Monica Webster" / "Brand New Car" and went on to break many new Scottish bands in the nineties. When the second Chemikal Underground release by Bis, ''The Secret Vampire Soundtrack EP'' was successful, earning them a slot on ''Top of the Pops'', the label was able to expand. To date, ''The Secret Vampire Soundtrack'' is the only Top 40 hit released on Chemikal Underground. Further success followed with the debut albums by Mogwai and Arab Strap. Cha Cha Cohen
Cha Cha Cohen was a band formed in 1994 by three members of The Wedding Present — Keith Gregory, Paul Dorrington and Simon Smith. After recruiting singer Jacqui Cohen (AKA Jaqi Dulany) from The Dustdevils they released a single, "Sparky's Note", on Hemiola Records. In 1996 they released their first record on Chemikal Underground Records and in 1998 released a self-titled album when keyboard player Alan Thomas joining the group. In 1999 Paul Dorrington left and was replaced by Tanya Mellot. Their last album ''All Artists Are Criminals'' was released in 2001, after which Gregory and his now wife, Cohen emigrated to Australia and effectively broke up the group. ''Hit Parade 2'' is a compilation album by The Wedding Present released in January 1993. Having decided to release a limited edition single every month for all of 1992 (each featuring an original track on the A side and a cover version on the B side) the group subsequently compiled the songs as two LPs called ''Hit Parade 1'' and ''Hit Parade 2''. In 2003, a double CD was issued called simply ''The Hit Parade''. A different recording of "Boing!" than the one found on the original 7" single was used on all subsequent album editions - the single edition was produced by Jimmy Miller (who also produced "Flying Saucer"), the re-recording by Brian Paulson (who also produced the remaining singles). The original video for this track was also omitted from the VHS compilation ''Dick York's Wardrobe''.
