Paul Chaffey
Paul André Chaffey (born 10 July 1965) is a Norwegian businessperson and politician, who represented the Socialist Left Party until 1997. He is now State Secretary to Minister of Local Government Jan Tore Sanner, and a supporter of the Conservative Party since 2000. He was born in Oslo as a son of university lecturer Patrick Nigel Chaffey (1938–2006) and advisor Arnhild Mæhle (born 1945). He grew up in Bærum, and finished secondary school at Valler Upper Secondary School in 1984. At the University of Oslo he minored in political science in 1985–1986 before minoring in history in 1988–1989. He became involved in the Socialist Youth at a young age, and worked as their county secretary in Oslo from 1984 to 1985. From 1986 to 1988 he was the organizational secretary of the nationwide organization. Lisbet Rugtvedt (born 3 July 1967) is a Norwegian politician for the Socialist Left Party. Career She was born in Skien. She finished secondary education in Skien in 1986 and a minor in the history of ideas at the University of Oslo in 1993. She served as a member of the Skien city council from 1987 to 1989. Raymond Johansen
Raymond Johansen (born 14 February 1961) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party who has been Governing Mayor of Oslo since 2015. A former member of the Socialist Left Party, Johansen previously served as the Oslo city commissioner for transport and environment from 1992 to 1995, when his party withdrew from the city cabinet. Dieter Nohlen & Philip Stöver (2010) ''Elections in Europe: A data handbook'', p1438 Prior to the election Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland of the Labour Party had issued the 36.9 ultimatum declaring that the government would step down unless it gained 36.9% of the vote, the percentage gained by the Labour Party in 1993 under Gro Harlem Brundtland. Whilst Labour won a plurality of seats, they were unable to reach Jagland's 36.9% threshold, gaining 35% of the vote. As a result of this, the Labour government stepped down, being replaced by a centrist coalition of the Christian People's Party, Liberal Party and the Centre Party, with Kjell Magne Bondevik being appointed Prime Minister, and confidence and supply support from the Conservative Party and the right-wing Progress Party.
