Paul Chadwick
Paul Chadwick (born 1957) is an American comic book creator best known for his series ''Concrete'' about a normal man trapped in a stone body. Biography Born in Seattle, Chadwick grew up in its suburb Medina, where his father, Stephen F. Chadwick, was the city attorney. As a teenager, he participated in Apa-5, the amateur press alliance of comics fans, and in 1979 graduated from the Art Center College of Design, where he had majored in illustration. Chadwick began his career creating storyboards for Disney, Warner Brothers, Lucasfilm and other film studios, contributing to such films as '' Pee Wee's Big Adventure'', ''Strange Brew'', '' The Big Easy'', '' Ewoks: The Battle for Endor'', '' Lies'' and ''Miracle Mile''. Stumptown Comics Fest was a comic book convention, held annually in Portland, Oregon from 2004–2013. Miracle Mile (film)
''Miracle Mile'' is a 1988 American apocalyptic thriller film written and directed by Steve De Jarnatt, and starring Anthony Edwards and Mare Winningham. The film depicts the panic surrounding a supposed doomsday brought on by a sudden outbreak of war and its oncoming nuclear holocaust. Both the period and nighttime setting leave characters and the audience uncertain as to whether or not the doomsday claims hold any authenticity. The film takes place in a single day, and mostly in real-time. It is titled after the Miracle Mile neighborhood of Los Angeles, where most of the events takes place.. Plot The film opens with the two main characters, Harry (Anthony Edwards) and Julie (Mare Winningham), meeting at the La Brea Tar Pits, where they immediately fall in love. Harvey Award
The Harvey Awards are given for achievement in comic books. Named for writer-artist Harvey Kurtzman, the Harvey Awards were founded by Gary Groth in 1988, president of the publisher Fantagraphics, to be the successor to the Kirby Awards that were discontinued in 1987. The Harvey Awards are now nominated by the Harvey Awards Nomination Committee. The winners are selected by an open vote among comic-book professionals. The Harveys are no longer affiliated with Fantagraphics. The Harvey Awards Executive Committee is made up of unpaid volunteers, and the Awards are financed through sponsorships. ''The Matrix Online'' (abbreviated as ''MxO'') was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) initially developed by Monolith Productions and later, a few months after launch, by Sony Online Entertainment. John Bolton (born 23 May 1951 in London, England) is a British comic book artist and illustrator most known for his dense, painted style, which often verges on photorealism. He was one of the first British artists to come to work in the American comics industry, a phenomenon which took root in the late 1980s and has since become standard practice. Vertigo Comics, also known as DC Vertigo or simply Vertigo, was an imprint of American comic book publisher DC Comics started by editor Karen Berger in 1993. ''Dark Horse Presents'' was a comic book published by American company Dark Horse Comics from 1986. Their first published series, it was their flagship title until its September 2000 cancellation. The second incarnation was published on MySpace, running from July 2007 until August 2010. A third incarnation began in April 2011, released in print form once again.
