Paul Bryan (born April 13, 1967) is a Grammy-winning Los Angeles-based music producer, arranger, songwriter, and bassist. Biography Music production and arranging Bryan produced four albums by singer-songwriter Aimee Mann: '' One More Drifter in the Snow'' (SuperEgo Records, 2006), '' @#%&*! The album was recorded in four days at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio studio in Chicago. Los Angeles-based arranger Paul Bryan conducted score for a small orchestra, with Nastasia and her manager Kennan Gudjonsson assembling string and woodwind quartets. The record also features contributions from drummer Jay Bellerose and guitarist Jeff Parker. Theodore Francis Leo is an American singer and musician. He is the frontman and lead guitarist of the rock group Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and in 2013, he and Aimee Mann formed the indie rock duo The Both. Early life Born in South Bend, Indiana, Leo grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey, where his family was from and spent many formative years in the hardcore punk scene of New York City during the 1980s and early 1990s. The Both was an American indie rock musical duo consisting of Aimee Mann and Ted Leo. They began collaborating in 2013 and released a self-titled album in April 2014. Origins The songwriting collaboration between Aimee Mann and Ted Leo originated during a joint concert tour in 2012, and specifically with an appearance together at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on November 11, 2012, which was later described in the lyrics of their song "Milwaukee." Amy Correia (born September 12, 1968) is an American singer and songwriter who grew up in Lakeville, Massachusetts. Biography Correia lived in New York's Chinatown after graduating from Barnard College. She worked in advertising, writing copy by day, while at night honing her songwriting and performing in clubs like Sin-é Cafe on the Lower East Side. A chance meeting with Blind Melon guitarist, Christopher Thorn, who'd stopped by the small club while on tour, led the two to make several recordings which helped Correia eventually sign with Virgin Records. While signed to Virgin Records, Correia recorded an album of songs at Daniel Lanois' Kingsway Studios in New Orleans with Christopher Thorn producing, but the album went unfinished. ''Mental Illness'' is the ninth studio album by singer-songwriter Aimee Mann. It was released on March 31, 2017, by SuperEgo Records. Mann described it as her "saddest, slowest and most acoustic" album. The album won the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. Recording "Goose Snow Cone" was inspired by a photo of a friend's cat Mann received while on tour in Ireland.
