Paul Atkinson (basketball)
Paul Atkinson Jr. (born March 27, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for Kortrijk Spurs of the BNXT League. He played college basketball player for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Yale Bulldogs. Early life and high school career Atkinson grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida and attended the Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As a junior, he led Westminster Academy to the Class 3A state championship game, where they fell to Windermere Prep. Atkinson committed to play college basketball at Yale at the beginning of his senior year after receiving interest from Dayton, UNC-Wilmington, and Richmond. As a senior, Atkinson averaged 20.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game and was the Sun-Sentinel South Florida Player of the Year. Paul Atkinson (c. 1655 – 15 October 1729), born Matthew Atkinson, was an English Roman Catholic priest of the 17th and 18th centuries, which were the penal times in the English Church. He is viewed as a martyr, dying in prison for his Catholic activities. Life He was born in Yorkshire. He joined the English Franciscan institution, Douai Abbey in 1673, and then became a Catholic missionary in England for twelve years, after this he was betrayed by a maidservant for a £100 reward. Paul Atkinson (footballer, Born 1961)
Paul Graham Atkinson (born 14 August 1961) is an English retired professional footballer who played as a winger. He appeared in the 1984 FA Cup Final with Watford. Career As a youth, Atkinson represented both the Leeds Schoolboys and Yorkshire Schoolboys teams before joining Oldham Athletic as an apprentice in 1977. He was given his first professional contract two years later and made his senior debut on 18 August 1979, scoring in the 2–3 defeat away at Newcastle United. He became a first-team regular for Oldham over the following four seasons and scored a total of 11 goals in 143 league matches for the club. In July 1983, Atkinson was signed by Watford manager Graham Taylor for a transfer fee of £175,000. A broken ankle sustained in pre-season delayed his debut in the First Division. Paul Atkinson (footballer, Born 1966)
Paul Atkinson (born 19 January 1966) is an English former footballer who played on the left-side of midfield. He appeared three times for England Youth in a tournament in 1983, and played another five games the following year. He began his career at Sunderland, and helped the "Black Cats" to the Third Division title in 1987–88. He joined Port Vale for a £20,000 fee in June 1988, but soon became blighted by injury. He was loaned out to Stafford Rangers and Hartlepool United to help to regain his fitness, but was forced to retire from professional football on medical advice in January 1991. Career Atkinson began his career at Sunderland, winning 18 caps for the England youth-team between 1982 and 1985. He made his first-team debut at home to Norwich City on 27 August 1983.
