Paul Anders Ogren (born May 9, 1951) was an American politician, carpenter, and farmer. Ogren lived in Aitkin, Minnesota and was a farmer and carpenter. He went to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, to study political science, and to University of Minnesota. Ogren was married to Sandra Gardebring Ogren, who served on the Minnesota Supreme Court. Ogren served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1981 to 1992 and was a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat. Aitkin, Minnesota
Aitkin ( ) is a city in Aitkin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,168 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Aitkin County. History Before the establishment of City of Aitkin, a transient community of Lexington was located at the mouth of the Ripple River, at its confluence with the Mississippi River. However, maps from the 1860s erroneously depict the village of Ojibway (or Ogibeway) at the mouth of the Ripple River. (Today the town here is known as Riverton.) Due to the importance of regional trade at Lexington, the route of the Northern Pacific Railroad was planned to pass near there. Aitkin was founded in 1870 when the Northern Pacific Railroad was extended to that point, replacing and annexing Lexington. The city and county were named for William Alexander Aitken, a partner of the American Fur Company and chief factor of the company's regional operations in the early 19th century. Sandra Gardebring Ogren
Sandra Gardebring Ogren (June 14, 1947 – July 20, 2010) was an associate justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court appointed by Governor Rudy Perpich in 1991. She also served as Vice President for Institutional Relations at the University of Minnesota, and Vice President for Advancement at California Polytechnic State University following her resignation from the Minnesota Supreme Court in 1998. Born in Bismarck, North Dakota, Gardebring graduated from Luther College and the University of Minnesota Law School in 1973 and died in California. She also served on the Minnesota Court of Appeals 1989 to 1991.
