Paul A. Broad
Paul Anthony Broad (born 8 April 1951) is an Australian economist known for his management of government business departments. In 2011 he was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Infrastructure NSW. He is an advocate of user-pays pricing, and has a philosophical commitment to involving the private sector. Early life Moved from the Central Coast (New South Wales), Central Coast to the Newcastle, New South Wales, Newcastle area in 1964. He attended high school at Hamilton, New South Wales, Hamilton Marist Brothers college. He received Honours and master's degrees from University of Newcastle, Australia, Newcastle University in Economics. His honours thesis was on the perils of price control in the milk industry. Infrastructure NSW
Infrastructure NSW is an agency of the Government of New South Wales that provides independent advice to assist the NSW Government in identifying and prioritising the delivery of critical public infrastructure across the Australian state of New South Wales for economic and social wellbeing. It was established in 2011 by then O'Farrell government and reports to the Premier of New South Wales. National Broadband Network
The National Broadband Network (NBN) is an Australian national wholesale open-access data network. It includes wired and radio communication components rolled out and operated by NBN Co, a Government-owned corporation. Internet service providers, known under NBN as retail service providers or RSPs, contract with NBN to access the data network and sell fixed Internet access to end users. Rationales for this national telecommunications infrastructure project included replacing the existing copper cable telephony network that is approaching end of life, and the rapidly growing demand for Internet access.
