Patty Berg (politician)
Patty Berg (born June 6, 1942) is an American politician who served in the California State Assembly from 2002 to 2008. A Democrat, she was elected in November 2002 to represent the 1st Assembly District, which includes Del Norte County, Humboldt County, Mendocino County, Lake County, and Trinity County as well as parts of Sonoma County. Early life Berg was born in Seattle, and graduated from California State University at Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in Sociology & Social Welfare in 1967. She has lived in Humboldt County since the 1970s. Local politics Berg founded the Executive Director of the Area Agency on Aging serving Humboldt and Del Norte Counties for 19 years. While there, she grew the agency from a staff of 4 and a budget of $300,000 to 25 employees and a multimillion-dollar budget. Wesley P. Chesbro (born August 20, 1951) is an American Democratic politician from California. He was an assemblymember for the 2nd district, encompassing the North Coast. Previously, Chesbro served as the Assembly member from California's 1st district from 2008 until 2012. He has also served as a member of the California Integrated Waste Management Board. Early career Chesbro was an early leader in the recycling movement having founded the Arcata Recycling Center in 1971.
