Pattiyude Divasam
''Pattiyude Divasam'' (( ml, പട്ടിയുടെ ദിവസം), (alternate title - A Dog's Day)) is a 2001 Indian political satire film directed by Murali Nair. Plot A local ruler bows down to the pressure from democratic forces and is forced to hand over a part of his province to a democratically elected leader. He also presents his pet dog to a poor peasant and his wife. For the poor peasant and his wife, the dog is not a mere dog, but a symbol of the royalty which had always inspired in them feelings of respect, admiration and blind worship. They bathe the dog in a very ceremonious manner and take much care of it. They even desist from tying it up. But when the dog bites and kills a duck and then a boy, it leads to problems. The democratic leader orders the arrest of the dog, followed by the arrest of the poor peasant. Then follow protests, talks, negotiations leading to more interesting developments. Cast * K. Murali Nair
Murali Nair (born 10 January 1966) is an Indian film director and screenwriter. He has directed eight films since 1993. His film '' Marana Simhasanam'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Caméra d'Or. Preeya Nair
Preeya Kalidas (born 21 June 1980) is a British singer and actress. She played Amira Masood in the soap opera ''EastEnders'', from 2009 to 2012. She released the single " Shimmy" in July 2010, taken from her proposed debut album ''(I'm Over It) Constant Craving''; however, the album was never released. Early life Preeya Kalidas was born to Indian Gujarati parents in Isleworth, and was raised in Twickenham, South-West London. Her father is an independent financial adviser, and her mother works for British Airways. She started ballet classes at the age of three, and tap at five. Bharathan Njavakkal
Bharathan (14 November 1946 – 30 July 1998) was an Indian film maker, artist, and art director. Bharathan is noted for being the founder of a new school of film making in Malayalam cinema, along with Padmarajan and K. G. George, in the 1980s, which created films that were widely received while also being critically acclaimed. A train of directors, and screenwriters followed this school onto the 1990s including Sibi Malayil, Kamal, Lohithadas and Jayaraj. Early life He was born at Enkakkad near Wadakkancherry, in present-day Thrissur district of Kerala, India. Career Art direction After completing his diploma from the College of Fine Arts, Thrissur, Bharathan entered films as an art director through the Malayalam film '' Gandharavakshetram'' (1972), directed by A.
