Patryk Jaki
Patryk Tomasz Jaki (born 11 May 1985 in Opole) is a Polish politician, member of the European Parliament, former Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice (First Deputy Minister of Justice) and First Deputy Attorney General, former Chairman of the Verification Committee for Reprivatisation since 2017. Biography Education He attended the University of Wrocław, where he earned a Master of Arts in political science. In 2019 he submitted a thesis at the War Studies Academy setting out his ideas on Polish penitentiary system; he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree for it. Political career On 18 November 2015, Patryk Jaki became Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice responsible for, among other things, supervision over the Prison Service. He was also appointed Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Justice for the Implementation of the Electronic Monitoring System. Zygmunt Szendzielarz
Zygmunt Szendzielarz (12 March 1910 – 8 February 1951) was the commander of the Polish 5th Wilno Brigade of the Home Army (Armia Krajowa), nom de guerre "Łupaszka". He fought against the Red Army after the end of the Second World War. Following the Soviet takeover of Poland at the end of World War II he was arrested, accused of numerous crimes and executed in the Mokotów Prison as one of the anti-communist cursed soldiers. After the fall of communism, in 1993, Szendzielarz was rehabilitated and declared innocent of all charges. In 2007 Polish president Lech Kaczyński posthumously awarded Szendzielarz with the order of Polonia Restituta. His involvement in the Dubingiai massacre of 1944, however, remains controversial. August Emil Fieldorf (''nom de guerre''; “''Nil''”; 20 March 1895 – 24 February 1953) was a Polish brigadier general who served as deputy commander-in-chief of the Home Army after the suppression of the Warsaw Uprising (August 1944 – October 1944). In 1953, he was executed by the communist regime. Biography General Fieldorf's ancestors were partly of Moravian origin. He was born on 20 March 1895 in Kraków. In the city, he finished his studies at the boy's college of St Nicholas and later a seminary.
