Patriot Alliance Association
The (Chinese) Patriot Alliance Association (Chinese: 愛國同心會), abbreviated PAA, also known as the Concentric Patriotism Alliance (Chinese: 中華愛國同心會) or the Concentric Patriotism Association of China is a pro-Chinese Communist Party organization that supports the unification of Taiwan and China. The organization was founded in 1993 and has been subjected to multiple public complaints of harassment and aggression. Because of this, its members have been informally labeled "Communist thugs in Taiwan". Previous attacks by members of the ''PAA'' have targeted Falun Gong-practitioners in front of the Taipei 101 square in 2010. Zhang Xiuye () is a founding member of the Chinese Patriotic Alliance Association. Chou Ching-chun
Chou Ching-chun (28 June 1943 – 16 June 2021) was a Taiwanese social activist and politician. The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council is an administrative agency under the State Council of Mainland China. It is responsible for setting and implementing guidelines and policies related to the Republic of China (Taiwan), as stipulated by the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the State Council itself. ''Taiwan News'' (formerly ''China News'') is an English-language online newspaper in Taiwan. It is owned by foods company I-Mei Foods, which also publishes the Chinese-language news weekly of the same name. History ''China News'' was founded on 6 June 1949 in Taipei by James Wei, a journalist with close ties to the KMT and former employee of the Ministry of Information. The newspaper was established to cater for foreign residents and the local population in Taiwan. At the time it was the only English-language daily newspaper in Taiwan and it was a newspaper published in the afternoon. Chen Shui-bian
Chen Shui-bian (; born 12 October 1950) is a retired Taiwanese politician and lawyer who served as the president of the Republic of China (Taiwan) from 2000 to 2008. Chen was the first president from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) which ended the Kuomintang's (KMT) 55 years of continuous rule in Taiwan. He is colloquially referred to as A-Bian (阿扁). A lawyer, Chen entered politics in 1980 during the Kaohsiung Incident as a member of the Tangwai movement and was elected to the Taipei City Council in 1981. Taipei 101 (; stylized as TAIPEI 101), formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center, is a supertall skyscraper in Taipei, Taiwan.
