Pat Williams (Montana Politician)
John Patrick Williams (born October 30, 1937) is an American Democratic legislator who represented Montana in the United States House of Representatives from 1979 to 1997. Williams attended the University of Montana in Missoula, William Jewell College, and the University of Denver, Colorado, earning a BA. From 1961 to 1969 he was a member of the National Guard in Colorado and Montana, and was a teacher in Butte, Montana. His cousin was Evel Knievel, an American daredevil and showman. Political career In 1966 Williams was elected to the Montana House of Representatives in District 23 of Silver Bow County, winning reelection in 1968. From 1969 to 1971 he served as the executive assistant to Montana Representative John Melcher. Patrick Cyril Williams (12 December 1912 – 9 December 1981) was both an English first-class cricketer and an officer in the British Army. Williams served in the Royal Corps of Signals from 1933 to 1964, during which time he was recognised for his contribution to the Malayan Emergency. He played first-class cricket while stationed in British India during the Second World War. Life and military career Williams was born at Ningbo in the Republic of China in December 1912. He attended the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich in England, graduating in February 1933 and entering into the Royal Corps of Signals as a second lieutenant. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in February 1936. He served with the Royal Army Signal Corps during the Second World War, during which he was promoted to the rank of captain in February 1941. Pat Williams (born May 3, 1940) is a former American sports executive, who most recently served as senior vice president of the Orlando Magic. Williams began his career as a minor league baseball player, and later joined the front office of his team. In the late 1960s he moved into basketball, with his biggest achievements being the 1983 title of the Philadelphia 76ers and being a partner in the creation of the Orlando Magic. Early life Williams was born in 1940 in Philadelphia, the second oldest of four children and the only son. He was raised in Wilmington, Delaware, attending Tower Hill School where his father coached and taught. He became a friend of Ruly Carpenter, son of Philadelphia Phillies owner Bob "R.R.M." Patrick Williams Sr. (born October 24, 1972) is a former American football defensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for fourteen seasons. He played college football for Texas A&M Aggies football. He was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 1997. Williams also played for the Minnesota Vikings, with whom he was a three-time Pro Bowl selection. College career After graduating from Wossman High School in Monroe, Louisiana, Williams attended Navarro College, where he was a two-time junior college All-American in 1992 and 1993. Patrick Moody Williams (April 23, 1939 – July 25, 2018) was an American composer, arranger, and conductor who worked in many genres of music, and in film and television. Biography Born in Missouri, Williams grew up in Connecticut and received a degree in history from Duke University, where he directed the student-run jazz big band, known as the Duke Ambassadors, from 1959 to 1961. Since music was always his first love, he went on to Columbia University to study music composition and conducting, where his passion became his profession.
