Paddy Nolan
Patrick James Nolan (March 3, 1862 in Limerick, Ireland – February 10, 1913 in Calgary, Alberta) was an early Canadian 'frontier' lawyer, whose fame as "the greatest wit in the west" has led to stories and legends in Canadian folklore about his criminal law practice in Calgary. Nolan moved to Calgary in 1889, and located his office above the ''Calgary Herald'' printing house, which led to his friendship with journalist Norman Luxton. He was widely known as a hard-drinking lawyer with a sharp wit and a skill for defending the underprivileged class of society. Some of his clients included Caroline Fulham. He had an enduring friendship with the legendary journalist Bob Edwards, founder of the Eye-Opener. A well-known tale recounts how Nolan's physical resemblance to Minister of the Interior Thomas Mayne Daly often led to the two being confused for each other. James Patrick Nolan (December 1, 1897 – April 12, 1957) was a Canadian ice hockey player who played one season in the National Hockey League for the Toronto St. Patricks in 1922. Pat Nolan
Patrick James Nolan (born June 16, 1950) is an American lawyer, politician and conservative activist. Political career In 1978, Nolan was elected to the California State Assembly, serving the 41st district comprising Glendale, Burbank, Toluca Lake and Sunland-Tujunga. He also served the 43rd district. from 1992 to 1994. In 1984, he was elected Assembly Republican Leader, and began an aggressive campaign to elect a Republican majority in the Assembly. Conviction Nolan was part of an FBI sting operation called Shrimpscam which targeted officials who accepted illegal campaign contributions. He was charged with seven counts of corruption. He entered into a plea deal and admitted to one count of racketeering in 1993. As a now convicted felon, Nolan resigned his seat and was sentenced to thirty three months in prison. Pat Nolan (hurler)
Patrick Nolan (9 July 1937 – 29 August 2021) was an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Wexford senior team. Born in Oylegate, County Wexford, Nolan first played competitive hurling in his youth. He quickly came to prominence at underage levels with the Oylegate-Glenbrien club, before later winning championship medals in the junior and intermediate grades. Nolan was a one-time championship medal winner at senior level. Biography Nolan arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Wexford minor team. He joined the senior team as sub-goalkeeper for the 1956 championship. Nolan went on to play a key part for Wexford during a hugely successful era for the county, and won three All-Ireland medals, six Leinster medals and three National Hurling League medals. Patrick Joseph Nolan
Professor Patrick Joseph Nolan (11 August 1894 – 28 December 1984) was an Irish physicist. Like his older brother, physicist John James Nolan, he specialised in atmospheric physics. In 1971, he was awarded the Boyle Medal by the Royal Dublin Society. He was born in Omagh, County Tyrone, and educated at University College Dublin. He earned a BSc in 1914, coming first in his class, and an MSc followed in 1915.
