Patrick Lavoie
Patrick Lavoie (born October 19, 1987) is a Canadian football fullback who is a free agent. He most recently played for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played in parts of three seasons for the Montreal Alouettes and for four years with the Ottawa Redblacks where he won his first Grey Cup championship in 2016. He has also played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He played CIS football for the Laval Rouge et Or and won Vanier Cup championships in 2008 and 2010. Professional career Montreal Alouettes Lavoie was drafted 11th overall by the Montreal Alouettes in the 2012 CFL Draft and signed with the team on May 16, 2012 to a two-year contract. Sainte-Flavie is a parish municipality in the La Mitis Regional County Municipality of Quebec, Canada, located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, about northwest of Mont-Joli. 2012 CFL Draft
The 2012 CFL Draft took place on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM ET on TSN. 45 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The Calgary Stampeders had the most selections with eight, while Hamilton had seven picks. The Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes each had six and the Edmonton Eskimos and Winnipeg Blue Bombers had five picks. The defending Grey Cup champion BC Lions and the Saskatchewan Roughriders had the fewest selections with just four. A total of three trades involving 11 draft picks in this draft were made on the draft day itself. 2020 CFL Season
The 2020 CFL season would have been the 67th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it would have been the 63rd season of the Canadian Football League. It was originally scheduled to begin on June 11; on April 7, the start of the season was delayed to begin no sooner than July due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The CFL planned to obtain financial assistance from the federal government. In May, the CFL delayed the season to no sooner than September, and announced that the Grey Cup was to be played as a home advantage game rather than as a neutral site game in Regina, Saskatchewan, as originally planned. The 2019 Saskatchewan Roughriders season was the 62nd season for the team in the Canadian Football League. It was the club's 110th year overall and its 104th season of play. The Roughriders qualified for the playoffs for the third consecutive year and hosted a playoff game for the second consecutive year. They finished 13–5 in the regular season (their best record since 1970) and finished first place in the West Division for only the second time since 1976 and the first time winning the West Division crown since 2009. Jean-Christophe Beaulieu (also known as 'J.C Beaulieu') (born May 6, 1990) is a former Canadian football fullback. He was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the sixth round of the 2014 CFL Draft. He played CIS football at the Université de Sherbrooke. College career Beaulieu played in nine games for the Sherbrooke Vert et Or during his senior year in 2013, rushing for 55 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries. He also caught four passes for 34 yards and one touchdown. Professional career Montreal Alouettes Beaulieu was selected by the Montreal Alouettes with the 49th pick in the 2014 CFL Draft. 2018 CFL Season
The 2018 CFL season was the 65th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 61st Canadian Football League season. Edmonton hosted the 106th Grey Cup on November 25, 2018. The CFL announced that this season will move to a 21-week regular season (previously a 20-week season) to increase player rest time and reduce short turnaround-times for games. The 103rd Grey Cup was a Canadian football game that was played on November 29, 2015 between the East Division champion Ottawa Redblacks and the West Division champion Edmonton Eskimos to decide the Canadian Football League (CFL) championship for the 2015 season. The game was played at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Shaw Communications was the presenting sponsor of the game; it was the first time in CFL history that the Grey Cup has been sponsored. The Eskimos won the contest 26–20 to claim their 14th Grey Cup championship in franchise history and first since 2005. Mike Reilly was named Most Valuable Player and Shamawd Chambers received the Dick Suderman Trophy as Most Valuable Canadian.
