Patrick Kelly (Irish Politician)
Patrick Michael Kelly (10 August 1875 – 20 November 1934) was an Irish soldier, farmer and politician. He was a member of the Irish Free State Oireachtas as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Clare (Dáil constituency), Clare constituency from 1927 to 1932. Biography He was the eldest son of Tom Bán Kelly and Bridget Davoren and the grandson of the successful landowner, Pat Mór Kelly, and Bridget Gibson from Fortview in County Clare. As a soldier he was a member of the Household Cavalry, with whom he distinguished himself with honours in the Boer War. After the war he returned to County Clare to take over the farm at Clonina and eventually to enter political life. Kelly was known as a leader during Ireland's struggle for independence from Britain in the early 20th century. He was privately educated at home until 1889, when at the age of 14 he was sent to the Jesuit Mungret College in Limerick where he stayed until 1891. Patrick Kelly (cricketer)
Patrick Arthur Charles Kelly (1 January 1929 – 21 June 2002) was an English cricketer. Kelly was a right-handed batsman who bowled leg break. He was born in Ilford, Essex. Kelly made his debut for Cheshire in the 1958 Minor Counties Championship against the Yorkshire Second XI. Hall played Minor counties cricket for Cheshire from 1958 to 1977, which included 124 Minor Counties Championship matches. In 1964, he made his List A debut against Surrey in the Gillette Cup. He played three further List A matches for Cheshire, the last coming against Northamptonshire in the 1968 Gillette Cup. In his four List A matches, he scored 35 runs at a batting average of 8.75, with a high score of 16. He also played Second XI cricket for the Middlesex Second XI from 1950 to 1951. Outside of cricket he played hockey for Essex and Cheshire. He died in Macclesfield, Cheshire on 21 June 2002. Patrick Leo Kelly (1914–2007) was a journalist, publicist, writer and public activist. Initially a journalist, he was a successful publicist for public charities and a campaigner for the interests of indigenous Australians. Well known to Australian newspaper readers in the 1950s and 1960s for his historical features on a wide variety of topics in the ''Daily Mirror'' and other tabloids. Patrick Kelly is a former Royal Canadian Mounted Police undercover agent and convicted murderer. He was an officer in Toronto's drug squad based in Toronto at the Toronto RCMP Building in the early 1970s. Murder of Jeannette Kelly In 1984, Kelly was convicted of the first-degree murder of his wife Jeannette Kelly by throwing her from the 17th floor balcony of The Palace Pier high-rise on Sunday, March 29, 1981, in Toronto, Canada. He stated to police that he had seen his wife on the balcony, reaching out over the rail to investigate a rattle. Kelly testified she then slipped and fell to her death. At Kelly's trial, the Crown had evidence that he was working with organized crime, namely money laundering. Patrick Joseph Kelly (19 March 19578 May 1987), was an Irish commander of the East Tyrone Brigade of the Provisional Irish Republican Army during the mid-1980s until his death in a Special Air Service ambush at Loughgall, County Armagh in May 1987. Pte Patrick Kelly (10 May 1948 – 16 December 1983) was an Irish Army private in the Defence Forces killed during the rescue of kidnapped supermarket executive Don Tidey. Patrick Kelly (born 18 October 1995) is a Scotland 7s professional rugby union player who plays for Glasgow Warriors. He previously played for London Scottish. Kelly plays at centre. Rugby Union career Amateur career Kelly was at Millburn Academy in Inverness before winning a scholarship to Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh at the age of 15.
