Patrick Horgan
Patrick Horgan (born 5 May 1988) is an Irish hurler who plays for Cork Senior Championship club Glen Rovers and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a forward. Playing career Glen Rovers Minor and under-21 Horgan joined the Glen Rovers club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels. On 20 November 2005, he was at right corner-forward when Glen Rovers faced Carrigaline in the Premier County Minor Championship final. Horgan top scored with 0-08, including five frees, in the Glen's 0-15 to 1-08 victory. Horgan was appointed captain of the Glen Rovers minor team for the 2006 season. On 11 November, he was at right wing-forward for a second successive Premier County Minor Championship final. Bishopstown were the opponents, however, Horgan gave a man of the match display and scored 0-12 in the 0-18 to 2-09 victory. It was his last championship game in the minor grade. Glen Rovers GAA
Glen Rovers is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Only Blackrock have won more Cork senior hurling championships. Hurling Colours In the early days of the club, its colours were green, white and gold. The Easter Rising and the execution of the leaders took place in the same year the Glen was founded. Sarsfields GAA is a hurling club is based in the Riverstown and Glanmire area of County Cork. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. They have won six County Championships, 1951, 1957, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. They have also won three Minor County Championships, 2007, 2008 and 2014. The club derives its name for the Irish Jacobite and soldier Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan. The 2005 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 75th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 31 March 2005 and ended on 11 September 2005. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions. Eoghan Murphy (Erin's Own Hurler)
Eoghan Murphy (born 20 July 1987) is an Irish hurler who plays for Cork Senior Championship club Erin's Own. As of 2019, he plays as a full-forward. Murphy, along with his brother Kieran, is a former member of the Cork senior hurling team. Playing career University College Cork As a student at University College Cork Murphy was selected for the college's senior hurling team on a number of occasions. On 7 March 2009, he was an unused substitute when UCC defeated the University of Limerick by 2-17 to 0-14 to win the Fitzgibbon Cup. Imokilly GAA
Imokilly GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling division in the east of Cork, Ireland. The division includes towns such as Midleton, Cobh, and Youghal. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. In addition, the division selects football and hurling teams from the adult teams playing at junior level or county intermediate level, and these then compete for the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship. The 2019 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 131st staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the 2019 opening round fixtures took place on 15 January 2019. The championship began on 26 March 2019 and ended on 20 October 2019. The final was played at Páirc Uí Rinn in Cork, between defending champions Imokilly and Glen Rovers, in what was their first meeting in a final in 70 years. Erin's Own GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Glounthaune in east County Cork, Ireland. The club is made up of players from Little Island, Knockraha, Brooklodge and Glounthaune areas of the parish. The club caters for players at all age levels in hurling, Gaelic football, camogie and ladies football. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. History Erin's Own GAA Club was founded in 1963 with the amalgamation of the two parish clubs, Knockraha and Little Island.
