Patrick Curran (hurler)
Patrick Curran (born 2 March 1996) is an Irish hurler who plays for Waterford Championship club Dungarvan and at inter-county level with the Waterford senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a full-forward. Playing career Dungarvan Colleges During his secondary schooling at Dungarvan CBS, Curran was added to the amalgamated Colaiste na nDéise team. On 25 February 2012, he was just 15-years-old when he was selected at left corner-forward for the Harty Cup final against Nenagh CBS. Curran scored 1-02 from play and claimed a winners' medal after the 2–14 to 1–10 victory. On 24 February 2013, Curran was selected at centre-forward when the renamed Dungarvan Colleges faced Our Lady's Secondary School in the Harty Cup final. He scored eight points in total and ended the game with a second successive winners' medal after the 2–21 to 1–11 victory. Dungarvan GAA is a GAA club based in Dungarvan, County Waterford, Republic of Ireland. The club participates in both hurling and Gaelic football. The club currently heads the roll of honour in the Waterford Senior Football Championship with a total of 19 wins. The club attracted significant national attention in 2020 when a player competed in the final of the Waterford Intermediate Football Championship despite awaiting the result of a COVID-19 test, which returned a positive result. This led to Dungarvan (that year's competition-winning club) being stripped of the title. 2017 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship
The 2017 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 54th staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship began on 24 May 2017 and ended on 9 September 2017. Waterford entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Cork in the Munster semi-final. Meath fielded a team in the championship for the first time in several seasons. On 9 September 2017, Limerick won the championship following a 0-17 to 0-11 defeat of Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final. The 2016 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 53rd staging of the All-Ireland inter-county championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship began on 25 May 2016 and ended on 10 September 2016. Limerick entered the championship as the defending champions. They were beaten by Tipperary in the Munster semi-final. On 10 September 2016 Waterford won the championship following a 5-15 to 0-14 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. The 2014 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship is the 84th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship for players under the age of eighteen since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928.
