Patricio Loustau
Patricio Loustau (born April 15, 1975) is an Argentine former football referee who officiated primarily in Primera División since 2009, as well as for FIFA as a FIFA international referee since 2011, until his retirement on the 2022 season finale. His father, Juan Carlos Loustau, is a former football referee, who officiated in the 1990 FIFA World Cup, held in Italy. He was selected to referee 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. On September 6, 2013, after officiating the 2–1 victory for Uruguay over Peru in a qualifier at the Estadio Nacional of Perú, he had to be escorted out of the stadium due to angry Peruvian fans, who were upset over controversial calls in the match. Peruvian press claimed he was following CONMEBOL instructions, especially from the newly appointed CONMEBOL President Eugenio Figueredo, who is a Uruguayan national. Lomas de Zamora is a city in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, located south of the City of Buenos Aires and within the metropolitan area of Greater Buenos Aires. Eugenio Hermes Figueredo Aguerre (born 10 March 1932 in Santa Lucía, Uruguay) is a Uruguayan and American association football executive and former footballer. In May 2015, he was banned by FIFA Ethics Committee. Biography As a footballer, Figueredo played for Huracan Buceo as a right-half. He went on to serve as its president between 1971 and 1972, and again between 1976 and 77. From 1997–2006, he presided over the Uruguayan Football Association, and from 1993 until 2013 he was vice president of CONMEBOL. In April 2013 he replaced Nicolás Leoz as President. On 27 May 2015, Figueredo was arrested in Switzerland as the result of an FBI investigation into corruption in FIFA.
