Patricia M. Haslach
Patricia Marie Haslach (born 1956) is an American diplomat. She served as the Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs, from January 2017 to September 2017. She previously served as the United States Ambassador to Ethiopia from August 4, 2013 through September 2016. Early life and education A native of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Haslach earned her BA from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington and her Master in International Affairs from the European Institute at Columbia University. Career Haslach began her career with the federal government at the United States Department of Agriculture and was assigned to India as the regional Agricultural Attaché from 1987 to 1990. Jonathan Paul (Jon) Wilks (born 30 September 1967) is a British diplomat who was the Ambassador to Iraq from 2017 to 2019, Ambassador to Oman from 2014 to 2017 and Ambassador to Yemen from 2010 to 2011. Career Wilks was born at Callow End, Worcestershire, and educated at The Chase School, Malvern, and Durham University where he graduated in 1989 with a BSc degree in natural sciences. Herbert Salzman
Herbert Salzman (May 2, 1916 – December 23, 1990) was an American businessman who served as the United States Ambassador to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development from 1977 to 1981. His parents were Russian immigrants, and he was born in Brooklyn, New York. He attended public schools there and, in 1934, the Hebrew Reali School of Haifa, Palestine. He graduated ''cum laude'' from Yale College in 1938, and studied at Columbia University in 1954. President Lyndon Johnson made him assistant administrator of the Agency for International Development in 1966. Superior Honor Award
The Superior Honor Award is an award of the United States Department of State. Similar versions of the same award exist for the former U.S. Information Agency, Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, and USAID. It is presented to groups or individuals in recognition of a special act or service or sustained extraordinary performance covering a period of one year or longer. The award consists of a certificate signed by an assistant secretary, an official of equivalent rank or the Chief of Mission. While the Foreign Affairs Manual still stipulates award of a medal set, per a 2007 ALDAC (a cable intended for distribution to all diplomatic and consular posts), medals are no longer issued.
