Patrice Killoffer
Patrice Killoffer, better known simply as Killoffer (born 16 June 1966), is a writer and artist of comics. He was co-founder of the independent comics publisher L'Association in 1990, and has been a part of Oubapo since its creation in 1992. Career Patrice Killoffer studied at the School for Applied Arts Duperré in Paris in the 1980s. His teachers included comics authors Georges Pichard and Yves Got, who influenced him in his early works. He created his first pages in 1981, during his studies. In 1987, he made the first issue of the magazine ''Pas un seul'' with Jean-Yves Duhoo. In the following years, he published in the magazines ''Globof'', ''Lynx'', and ''Labo'', which was published by Futuropolis. Since 1990, he publishes regularly in ''Lapin'', the magazine of publisher ''L'Association'', which later published three of his albums. Fantômette
Fantômette is a series of 52 volumes created in 1961 by Georges Chaulet. The books were destined for young readers and feature a female superhero named Fantômette. It was published in the "Bibliothèque rose" series from Hachette Editions. Fantomette's alter ego, Françoise Dupont, is a girl of about twelve years who dresses up in order to fight crime. She has two sidekicks: Ficelle, a tall and not-very-bright blonde, and Boulotte, a short and chubby brunette who is fixated on food. Neither of them are aware of her secret identity, despite meeting Fantômette regularly. Fantômette was the first female superhero in French literature. The Fantômette books were aimed at eight- to twelve-year-old girls. Angoulême (; Poitevin-Saintongeais: ''Engoulaeme''; oc, Engoleime) is a commune, the prefecture of the Charente department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France. ''Ligne claire'' ( French for "clear line", ; nl, klare lijn) is a style of drawing created and pioneered by Hergé, the Belgian cartoonist and creator of ''The Adventures of Tintin''. It uses clear strong lines sometimes of varied width and no hatching, while contrast is downplayed as well. Cast shadows are often illuminated, and the style often features strong colours and a combination of cartoonish characters against a realistic background. The name was coined by Joost Swarte in 1977. History Hergé started out drawing in a much looser, rougher style which was likely influenced by American comic strip artists of the late 1920s and 1930s, such as Gluyas Williams and George McManus.
