Patrice Benausse is a French rugby league footballer who represented France national rugby league team at the 2000 World Cup. His father, Gilbert, and uncle, René René (''born again'' or ''reborn'' in French) is a common first name in French-speaking, Spanish-speaking, and German-speaking countries. It derives from the Latin name Renatus. René is the masculine form of the name (Renée being the feminine ..., both also represented France. Playing career Benausse played for the AS Carcassonne club. Association Sportive of Carcassonne are a semi-professional rugby league football club based in Carcassonne in the region of Occitania (administrative region), Occitanie in the south of France. They play in the French Elite One Championship and are one of the most successful clubs in French rugby league, having won a total of eleven French rugby league championship titles and fourteen Lord Derby Cups.
