Patraikos Football Club was a Greek football club based in Patras, Greece. Its colours were green and white. History Patraikos Football Club was a club of Patras, which was active in football. They were founded in 1993 as A.O. Panathinaikos Skagiopouleiou from friends of Panathinaikos in the city and with Stathis Moutzouroulias as president. They belonged to the force of FCA Achaea, had the colors green-white and emblem the clover. Initially, they used the stadium of Ladopoulos as its headquarters. In four years they achieved two ascents and in 1999 they won the championship of A' Category of FCA Achaea. In 2000, they were renamed Patraikos A.O., maintaining the same appearance, but with a new brand, the lighthouse - a symbol of Patras - and competing in the Prosfygika Stadium (Refugee Stadium). Panachaiki G.E. (Greek: Παναχαϊκή Γυμναστική Ένωση, ''Panachaiki Gymnastiki Enosi'', "Pan- Achaean Gymnastic Union") is a Greek multi-sport club based in the city of Patras, Greece. The history of Panachaiki began in 1891, when Panachaikos Gymnastikos Syllogos (Pan-Achaean Gymnastic Club) was founded. In 1894, a rival sports club, Gymnastiki Eteria Patron (Gymnastic Company of Patras), was founded in Patras by former Panachaikos' members. It was only in 1923 that the two clubs agreed to merge, forming Panachaiki Gymnastiki Enosi. Throughout a history of over 120 years, Panachaiki's athletes have won several Olympic medals. Emblematic figures in Panachaiki's history are weightlifter Dimitrios Tofalos and Kostas Davourlis, leader of the great football team that impressed Greece in the 1970s and took part in the 1974 UEFA Cup, being the first Greek countryside football club (outside Athens and Thessaloniki) to achieve that distinction. Prosfygika Stadium
Prosfygika Stadium ( el, Γήπεδο Προσφυγικών, ''Gipedo Prosfygikon'') is a football (soccer) stadium in Patras, Greece. It is named after its first Greek refugees, refugees that arrived from Asia Minor in 1922, a region now part of Turkey, following the Greco-Turkish Population Exchange. From 1925, it is used for the teams Thyella Patras F.C., Thyella, AS Apollo and Olympiakos Patras F.C., Olympiacos and Aris (Patras), Aris. From 1923, after the creation of Olympiacos, the stadium was constructed with owned properties inside the residents of the refugees near Agia Foteini. The construction were all straws which cleaned the refugees and their face of work became a field in which it is the oldest in Patras and one of the oldest in Greece, the stadium of Olympiacos (no relation of Olympiacos in Piraeus but it has the same logo) which said until 1964 the stadium became a part of the EPS Achaia. Achaea Football Clubs Association ( el, Ένωση Ποδοσφαιρικών Σωματείων Αχαΐας) is one of the oldest Greek amateur football clubs associations, representing teams from the Greek regional unit of Achaea. History It was founded in 1927 in Patras. Members included teams from the prefectures of Aetolia-Acarnania, Elis, Kefalonia and Zakynthos. Achaea
Achaea () or Achaia (), sometimes transliterated from Greek as Akhaia (, ''Akhaïa'' ), is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Western Greece and is situated in the northwestern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. The capital is Patras which is the third largest city in Greece. Geography Achaea is bordered by Elis to the west and southwest, Arcadia to the south, and Corinthia to the east and southeast. The Football League ( el, Φούτμπολ Λιγκ) was the second highest professional football league in Greece since its inception in 1962 as ''Beta Ethniki'' and until 2019. The Gamma Ethniki ( el, Γ΄ Εθνική Ερασιτεχνική Κατηγορία, C National Amateur Division) is the third highest football league in Greece. The 2000–01 Gamma Ethniki was the 18th season since the official establishment of the third tier of Greek football in 1983. Patraikos was crowned champion, thus winning promotion to Beta Ethniki.
