Paths In Twilight
''Paths in Twilight'' (german: Wege im Zwielicht) is a 1948 West German drama film directed by and starring Gustav Fröhlich.Bock & Bergfelder p. 139 It also features Sonja Ziemann and Benno Sterzenbach. It is part of the rubble film tradition made in Germany in the wake of the Second World War. It was shot at the Bendestorf Studios outside Hamburg and on location in Hannover. The film's sets were designed by the art director Erich Grave. Synopsis The film portrays the lives of three youths in immediate post-war Hannover who are homeless and try to make a living on the black market. When they are falsely connected with a murder they flee the city to the countryside where a sympathetic mayor offers them a fresh start. Gustav Fröhlich
Gustav Fröhlich (21 March 1902 – 22 December 1987) was a German actor and film director. He landed secondary roles in a number of films and plays before landing his breakthrough role of Freder Fredersen in Fritz Lang's 1927 film ''Metropolis''. He remained a popular film star in Germany until the 1950s. Biography Early life and Weimar Republic Gustav Fröhlich was born an illegitimate child in Hanover and was raised by foster parents. Before becoming an actor, he worked for a short time as an editor of a provincial newspaper and as the author of popular novels. During World War I, he also volunteered for duty in occupied Brussels as a press supervisor. Gustav Fröhlich began his stage career in the early 1920s at minor theatres in Germany. Wolfgang Otto Völz (16 August 1930 – 2 May 2018) was a German actor. He is known for his roles in theatre plays, TV shows, feature films (especially German films based on Edgar Wallace works) and taped radio shows. He was also a very prolific voice actor. Völz studied acting and consequently worked as a stage actor. After more than ten years of acting including a great deal of supporting roles in feature films and TV shows he became a popular cast member ("Lt.
