''Pather Dabi'' (''The Right of Way''; or ''Demands of the Road'') is a Bengali novel written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. It was first published as a novel in 1926, after having been initially serialized in the journal ''Bangabani''. The book is set in British-occupied India. Supriya Devi (Supriya Choudhury; 8 January 1933 – 26 January 2018) was an Indian actress who is known for her work in Bengali cinema for more than 50 years. She is best known for her portrayal of Neeta in Ritwik Ghatak's Bengali film '' Megha Dhaka Tara'' (1960). She was conferred the Filmfare Award and the BFJA Award twice. ''Sabyasachi'' is a Bengali patriotic drama film directed by Pijush Bose and produced by Asim Sarkar based on the novel ''Pather Dabi'' written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. This film was released on 21 January 1977 under the banner of ''Usha Films''. The film is one of the best films of Uttam Kumar career and this is the second film after ''Kal Tumi Aleya'' in 1966 where Uttam composed the film and in the film Uttam gave also his one of the finest performance in his career. Surya Sen, also called Surya Kumar Sen (22 March 189412 January 1934), was an Indian revolutionary who was influential in the Indian independence movement against British rule in India and is best known for leading the 1930 Chittagong armoury raid. Sen was a school teacher by profession and was popularly known as ''Master Da'' ("da" is an honorific suffix in Bengali language). He was influenced by the nationalist ideals in 1916 while he was a student of B.A. in Berhampore College (Now MES College).
