Pataudi Trophy
The Pataudi Trophy is awarded to the winner of each Test cricket series between England and India contested in England. The trophy itself was designed and made by Jocelyn Burton. It was first awarded in 2007 to commemorate the 75 years since the first Test match between the two sides. India won the first Pataudi Trophy in England in 2007. Series are played in accordance with the International Cricket Council's future tours programme, with varying lengths of time between tours. If a series is drawn then the country holding the Pataudi Trophy retains it. Background The trophy is named after the Pataudi cricketing family. Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi played for both international teams on three occasions and is the only man to have played for England and India. Board Of Control For Cricket In India
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. Its headquarters are situated at Cricket centre, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The BCCI is the richest governing body of cricket in the world and is part of the ''Big Three'' of international cricket, along with Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board. The board was formed in and is a consortium of List of members of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, state cricket associations. Anthony De Mello Trophy
The Anthony de Mello Trophy is awarded to the winner of the England-India Test cricket series held in India. The trophy was instituted in 1951, when England toured India for a five-match series. The trophy is named after Anthony de Mello, an Indian cricket administrator and one of the founders of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). When the series is held in England, the England-India Test cricket series is played for the Pataudi Trophy. That trophy was instituted by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in 2007 to mark the 75th anniversary of the first England-India Test series held in England in 1932. The Indian cricket team toured England in the 1996 cricket season. They played a total of eighteen matches, including three Tests and three One Day Internationals (ODIs) against England. In the Tests and ODIs, India were captained by Mohammad Azharuddin, while Michael Atherton captained England. This tour saw Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Venkatesh Prasad make their Test debuts. Prasad made his debut in the 1st Test at Edgbaston, taking six wickets in this match and ultimately finishing as the leading wicket-taker in the Test series with 16. India's Dilip Vengsarkar scored a total of 360 runs in the Test series and was named player of the series alongside England's Mike Gatting. England beat India in both the ODIs. Allan Lamb, who made his ODI debut for England in the series, and scored 134 runs, was named the player of the series along with India's Kapil Dev, who scored 102 runs in the two games.
