Pat Yankee
Pat Yankee (July 20, 1927 – May 30, 2022) was an American jazz and blues singer. Yankee was born in Lodi, California and had a long career as a performing musician. She was also in the 1946 film ''It's Great to Be Young'' as Anita. She performed in an off-Broadway musical ''Basin Street'' in 1983 (in the New Federal Theatre). Yankee died on May 30, 2022. Lodi ( ) is a city located in San Joaquin County, California, San Joaquin County, California, in the center portion of California's Central Valley (California), Central Valley. The population was 62,134 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. The estimated population is approximately 67,586 according to 2019 census data. It's Great To Be Young (1946 Film)
''It's Great to Be Young'' is a 1946 American musical comedy film directed by Del Lord, starring Leslie Brooks, Jimmy Lloyd, Jeff Donnell, Bob Haymes, Jack Williams, Jack Fina, Frank Orth, Ann Codee, Pat Yankee, Frank Sully and Milton Delugg. The New Federal Theatre is a theatre company named after the African-American branch of the Federal Theatre Project, which was created in the United States during the Great Depression to provide resources for theatre and other artistic programs. Turk Murphy
Melvin Edward Alton "Turk" Murphy (December 16, 1915 – May 30, 1987) was an American trombonist and bandleader, who played traditional and Dixieland jazz. Biography He was born in Palermo, California, United States. Murphy served in the Navy during World War II, during which he played and recorded with Lu Watters and Bunk Johnson. In 1952, he headed Turk Murphy's Jazz Band, which included pianist Wally Rose, clarinetist Bob Helm, banjoist Dick Lammi, and tubaist Bob Short. They played at the Italian Village at Columbus and Lombard in San Francisco's North Beach. The band appeared on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'' twice, in 1959 and 1965. In 1979, Robert Schulz began an eight-year stint with the band.
