Pat Page (magician)
Patrick "Pat" Page (17 March 1929 – 11 February 2010) was a stage magic (illusion), magician born in Dundee, Scotland. He became a professional magician at the age of 26 and worked at Davenport's magic shop for fifteen years. In 1950, he married Margaret Manzie, who died in 2003. Pat was the youngest of six siblings. He left behind his daughter Janette, son Jeremy and Grandson Robert. He appeared on The Paul Daniels Magic Show and was an uncredited consultant to the film Casino Royale. He worked as an advisor to Derren Brown and contributed to the children's magic show ''Wizbit''. The Secret Cabaret
''The Secret Cabaret'' was a magic (illusion), magic-based television programme that ran for two series, of six episodes each, on Channel 4 in the UK during the early 1990s. Fronted by British magician Simon Drake it was praised for giving a new and shocking twist to the presentation of illusions.In the end titles for the second series of the show Drake received a credit for "Conceived and Original Material". In addition to various magicians the show featured sideshow acts and presentations by experts on fraud and confidence tricks, all interspersed with vintage archive footage of freak shows and daredevil stunts. Topit
A Topit is a pocket installed inside a jacket used by Magician (illusion), magicians to dispose of objects secretly. It plays a similar role in the magician's toolkit to pulls, holdouts, servantes (magic), servantes, and techniques such as sleeving or lapping (magic), lapping. While the original Topit booklet by Patrick Page was put out by Lewis Davenport Ltd. in London decades ago, it was Michael Ammar who popularized the Topit with his refinement of Topit technique and inspired a number of well-known close-up magicians to adopt it. Topits were employed by pickpockets and thieves during the 19th century. This primitive form of the topit was called the "Poacher's Pouch". Gregory Wilson (magician)
Gregory Wilson is an American magician and two-time FISM award winner. Known as "The Honest Conman," Wilson specializes primarily in close-up magic, sleight-of-hand, and confidence trickery. He is the subject of a chapter in magician Paul Harris's book, ''Art of Astonishment'', Vol. 1. Wilson is a regular performer at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, but also performs at large corporate events, trade shows and private functions all over the world. Doug Henning
Douglas James Henning (May 3, 1947 – February 7, 2000) was a Canadian magician, illusionist, escape artist and politician. Early life Henning was born in the Fort Garry district of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and began practising magic at Oakenwald School in Fort Garry, later moving to Oakville, Ontario. Wayne Dobson
Wayne Dobson (born 5 July 1957, Leicester, England) is an English magician, who became well-known through various television appearances in the late 1980s and 1990s. At the height of his fame he had his own television series ''Wayne Dobson - A Kind of Magic''. More recently he has become known as a campaigner for multiple sclerosis charities. The Magic Circle (organisation)
The Magic Circle is a British organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the art of magic. Applicants must qualify for membership, either through a performance exam or by a written thesis on a branch of magic, after which they are designated Members of The Magic Circle (M.M.C.). Further distinctions may earn them the titles Associate of the Inner Magic Circle (A.I.M.C.); and Member of The Inner Magic Circle (M.I.M.C), a select group limited to 300 members. ''Magicians'' is a 2007 British comedy film released on 18 May 2007. It stars comic duo Robert Webb and David Mitchell as stage magicians Karl and Harry.
