Pat Moylan (politician)
Pat Moylan (born 12 September 1946) is a former Irish Fianna Fáil politician and member of Seanad Éireann. Born in Banagher, County Offaly, where he still lives, he is married with three sons and one daughter. A member of Offaly County Council from 1975 to 2004, Moylan was elected in 1997 to the 21st Seanad by the Agricultural Panel. In 2002, he was nominated by the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern as a member of the 22nd Seanad, where he was Fianna Fáil spokesperson on Tourism, Sport and Recreation and was a member of the Joint House Services Committee. He was elected to the 23rd Seanad by the Agricultural Panel in 2007. The Irish ( ga, Muintir na hÉireann or ''Na hÉireannaigh'') are an ethnic group and nation native to the island of Ireland, who share a common history and culture. Fianna Fáil Senators
''Fianna'' ( , ; singular ''Fian''; gd, Fèinne ) were small warrior-hunter bands in Gaelic Ireland during the Iron Age and early Middle Ages. A ''fian'' was made up of freeborn young males, often aristocrats, "who had left fosterage but had not yet inherited the property needed to settle down as full landowning members of the ''túath''". For most of the year they lived in the wild, hunting, raiding other communities and lands, training, and fighting as mercenaries. This is a list of the members of the 23rd Seanad Éireann, the upper house of the Oireachtas (legislature) of Ireland. These Senators were elected from 24 July 2007 onwards after postal voting closed. The Taoiseach's nominees were announced on 3 August 2007. The Seanad election took place after the 2007 general election for the Dáil.
