Patrick Morris (ca. 1789 – August 22, 1849) was an Irish-born merchant, ship owner, farmer, author and politician in Newfoundland. He represented St. John's in the Newfoundland House of Assembly from 1836 to 1840. He was president of the Agricultural Society. Patrick Morris is a British producer, director and series producer of many wildlife documentaries. Life/Career Morris attended King’s College, Taunton, and the University of Leeds, graduating with a first-class honours degree in Zoology. Morris began his career working in East Africa with renowned film-maker Hugo van Lawick producing films for the BBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and PBS Nova, including ''Islands in the African Sky'', ''Wings over the Serengeti,'' and ''Africa's Paradise of Thorns''. In 1995, he teamed up with Hugh Miles to produce ''People of the Sea'' for the BBC and National Geographic, about the collapse of the cod-fishing industry in Newfoundland, Canada, and its impact on people and wildlife. Patrick Joseph "Pat" Morris (born January 1938) is an American politician. He was the Mayor of San Bernardino, California from 2006 to 2014, and is a member of the Democratic Party. Early life Morris was born and grew up in Needles, California, along the Colorado River, where his father worked for the railroad. He graduated cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and was a member of Kappa Sigma Sigma at the University of Redlands. He received his J.D. degree from Stanford Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of California on June 5, 1963. Career He served in the Army Reserve for three years. For three years he served as a San Bernardino County Deputy District Attorney. He left the District Attorney's Office to enter private practice law, primarily family law. Patrick John Morris
Patrick John Morris (13 April 1948 – 16 January 2008) was a British composer, musician, and songwriter. He was educated at Highgate School, Guildhall School of Music, the Royal Academy of Music, and University College London, where he obtained a degree in philosophy. Disillusioned with contemporary classical music in the style of Stockhausen and Boulez, he developed a style that one critic, Jonathan Witshire, has called "residual", a label he accepted. He described his main musical influences as Erik Satie and Brian Eno, whom he rated as the most important composers of the twentieth century. His style is associated with that of his contemporary Howard Skempton and has been compared to younger composer Simon Rackham, who released a piece for two pianos called 'Warhorse' dedicated to the memory of Patrick Morris on his 2011 album, ''Once In a Blue Moonlight''.
