Pat Hartigan (actor)
Pat Hartigan (December 21, 1881 – May 8, 1951) was an American actor and director. He appeared in 72 films between 1909 and 1940. He also directed 14 films between 1911 and 1919. Charles Farrell
Charles David Farrell (August 9, 1900 – May 6, 1990) was an American film actor of the 1920s silent era and into the 1930s, and later a television actor. Farrell is probably best recalled for his onscreen romances with actress Janet Gaynor in more than a dozen films, including '' 7th Heaven'', '' Street Angel'', and '' Lucky Star.'' Later in life, he starred on TV in the 1950s sitcoms ''My Little Margie'' and played himself in ''The Charles Farrell Show''. He was active in business and civic affairs in Palm Springs, California, serving for a time as mayor. Biography Career Born in Walpole, Massachusetts, he began his career in Hollywood as a bit player for Paramount Pictures. ''Fury'' is a 1923 American silent drama adventure film produced by and starring Richard Barthelmess. It was directed by Henry King and released through First National Pictures which was then called Associated First National. The synopsis of this film has a strange foreboding character concerning actor Tyrone Power whose character Captain Leyton dies of heart attack, leaving his son, called 'Boy' played by Barthelmess, to carry on. In real life actor Power would die of a heart attack in 1931 in the arms of his own son Tyrone Power, the later film star. Plot As described in a film magazine review, a police dog is shipped South to a sheriff, but en route he jumps from the train and is taken in charge by a man who later sells him to another man. He who first had the dog enters the home of the second man to rob it, but the dog kills him. The dead man’s brother sets bloodhounds on the trail of the hero, and he and his finance are tracked down. ''Paint and Powder'' is a surviving 1925 American silent drama film produced and released by the Chadwick Pictures. The director of the film was Hunt Stromberg, later be best known as a producer and one of Louis B. Mayer's right hand men over at MGM. The star of this film is Elaine Hammerstein, sister of the music writer and granddaughter of the theatrical impresario, both named Oscar Hammerstein. Plot As described in a film magazine review, a waiter in a cheap cabaret loves the premier dancer of the place, and when a noted theatrical producer visits the cabaret, the waiter by deft manipulation obtains his wallet. He dresses the young woman up and tries to put her on Broadway. Later the waiter is sent up the river. When he is released, he finds the young woman married and successful.
