Pat Farrar
Pat Carroll (born 1946) is an Australian singer in the 1960s and early 1970s, she is probably best known for her television appearances and her collaboration with Olivia Newton-John. Biography and career Carroll was born in Melbourne, Victoria began her entertainment career at age eight when she started taking singing and dancing lessons. Appearances on children's TV shows followed by the time she was eleven years old. She continued by appearing in musical comedy shows such as ''Carnival'' and ''Bye Bye Birdie''. This led to appearing on national Australian pop TV shows such as ''Bandstand'' and ''The Go!! Show'' when in her mid-teens. Her first 45 single "He's My Guy" was released when she was 18. In the mid-1960s Carroll and her friend Olivia Newton-John formed a singing duo called ''Pat and Olivia''. Having won a song contest in Melbourne, they travelled to the United Kingdom. "He's a Rebel" is a song written by Gene Pitney that was originally recorded by Vikki Carr and by the girl group the Blossoms. Produced by Phil Spector, the Blossoms' version was issued as a single credited to the Crystals, which topped the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in November 1962. "Eddie My Love" is a 1956 doo wop song. According to BMI and ASCAP, the song was written by Maxwell Davis (BMI), Aaron Collins, Jr. (ASCAP), and Sam Ling (BMI). Maxwell Davis played sax on the Teen Queens record. Aaron Collins was the brother of the Teen Queens. Sam Ling was an alias of Saul Bihari, co-founder of Modern, RPM, and other labels. The Teen Queens were the first to record the song, released on RPM in 1956. It became their biggest selling single, with several follow up records failing to generate the same success.
