Pat Elzie
Patrick Elzie (born November 22, 1960) is an American-German professional basketball coach and former professional player. He played collegiately at Holy Cross and professionally in Europe. He acquired German citizenship in 1994. Playing career Born in Troy, Missouri, Elzie later moved to Wentzville, Missouri with his family. A 6’8 (203 cm) power forward, he appeared in a total of 109 games for the Holy Cross Crusaders between 1980 and 1984, averaging 7.6 points and 6.4 rebounds a contest. He kicked off his professional career with MTV Gießen of the German Basketball Bundesliga in 1984 and stayed with the team until 1987. ProB
The ProB is the third-tier level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 24 teams, separated into a Northern and a Southern Division. Officially, the ProB is part of the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'', which consists of the two hierarchical leagues ''ProA'' and ''ProB''. Before the 2007–08 season, the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'' was a basketball league with the same name, which consisted of two geographical divisions. At the end of the league stage, the winning team of the playoffs in each division, qualify for the ProA, and the teams positioned in 9th place and lower, fight in the play-downs, for the whereabouts in the league. The JobStairs GIESSEN 46ers (formerly GIESSEN 46ers) is a professional basketball club based in Gießen, Germany, that plays in the Basketball Bundesliga. Their home arena is Sporthalle Gießen-Ost, with a capacity of 4,003 people. History The biggest achievements in club history are five German Championships (1965, 1967, 1968, 1975, 1978). Besides that, the 46ers have won the German Cup three times (1969, 1973, 1979).
