Patricia Mae Giraldo (''née'' Andrzejewski, formerly Benatar; born January 10, 1953), known professionally as Pat Benatar, is an American rock singer and songwriter. In the United States, she has had two multi-platinum albums, five platinum albums, and 15 ''Billboard'' top 40 singles, while in Canada she had eight straight platinum albums, and she has sold over 35 million albums worldwide. She is also a four-time Grammy Award winner. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022. Her 1979 debut album, '' In the Heat of the Night'', was her breakthrough in North America, especially in Canada where it reached No. 3 on the album chart. Two singles from it were hits: "Heartbreaker" and "We Live for Love", the latter written by her lead guitarist and future husband, Neil Giraldo. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming. The OCC produces its charts by gathering and combining sales data from retailers through market researchers Kantar, and claims to cover 99% of the singles market and 95% of the album market, and aims to collect data from any retailer who sells more than 100 chart items per week. ''Wide Awake in Dreamland'' is the seventh studio album by American rock music, rock singer Pat Benatar, and her eighth album overall, released in 1988. After a string of successful albums, this was her last rock-oriented album of the 1980s, before she would go on to try a blues-based sound with ''True Love (Pat Benatar album), True Love'' in 1991. The album's lead single, "All Fired Up (Pat Benatar song), All Fired Up", peaked at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number 25 on the ''Cashbox (magazine), Cash Box'' Top 100. It was nominated for a Grammy Award but did not win. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA. Background and writing The album was primarily recorded at Neil Giraldo's studio, with most of the songwriting by Giraldo and longtime drummer Myron Grombacher. Seven The Hard Way
''Seven the Hard Way'' is the sixth studio album by American singer Pat Benatar, released on October 30, 1985, by Chrysalis Records. It debuted on the US Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 for the week of December 14 and peaked at number 26, spawning the singles "Invincible (Pat Benatar song), Invincible", "Sex as a Weapon", and "Le Bel Age". The album has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The Grammy Award-nominated single "Invincible" was produced by Mike Chapman and recorded for the soundtrack of the Matthew Robbins (screenwriter), Matthew Robbins film ''The Legend of Billie Jean'', which, despite underperforming at the box office, became a cult classic to MTV fans in general. The song became commercially successful and was included on the album, despite its musical style differing from Benatar's at that time and more reminiscent of her earlier efforts. ''Tropico'' is American rock singer Pat Benatar's fifth studio album, and sixth album overall, released in late 1984 by Chrysalis Records. This is the first album to feature one-time John Waite bassist Donnie Nossov, who replaced Roger Capps in Benatar's band. It peaked at No. 14 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200 album chart and produced the Grammy-nominated Top Five Pop hit " We Belong". Other well-known songs from the album include "Painted Desert", "Outlaw Blues" and "Ooh Ooh Song" (also a Top 40 hit). A Spanish version of "Ooh Ooh Song" was on the B-side of the US single and appeared also on her 1999 compilation, ''Synchronistic Wanderings''.
