Passion (Jennifer Rush Album)
''Passion'' is the fourth studio album by American singer Jennifer Rush, released in November 1988. Background Following on from the success of her previous album '' Heart over Mind'', Rush continued working with much of the same team of writers and producers. ''Passion'', however, failed to find the same high level of success and didn't chart at all in the UK. Despite this, sales were satisfying in her most successful market, Germany, where the album reached No.3 and was certified platinum. The lead single "You're My One and Only" became a hit, but further releases "Keep All the Fires Burning Bright" and "Love Get Ready" did little to generate interest. Single success did come a few months later in the UK, when a duet with Plácido Domingo, " Till I Loved You", became a hit in the summer of 1989. Jennifer Rush
Jennifer Rush (born Heidi Stern; September 28, 1960) is an American pop and rock singer. She achieved success during the mid-1980s with several singles and studio albums including the million-selling single " The Power of Love", which she co-wrote and released in 1984. Her greatest success came in Europe, particularly Germany. Early life Rush was born Heidi Stern in the New York City borough of Queens and has two older brothers. Her father, Maurice Stern, is an operatic tenor, voice teacher, and sculptor. Her parents divorced, and she and her brothers lived with their mother only until Rush was a toddler, and then with their father and his second wife on the Upper West Side of the borough of Manhattan. Rush studied violin at the Juilliard School and also took play lessons, although she did not enjoy these instruments and instead took to playing the guitar in private. The European Top 100 Albums chart was the European adaptation of the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart. It ran from March 1984 until December 2010. Also commonly referred to as Eurochart Top 100 Albums, the chart showcased the sales of an act in 19 European countries based on IFPI data. The European Top 100 combined album sales (both retail and digital) of new and older albums. The methodology was different from the US ''Billboard'' 200, where albums would only be allowed to chart if they weren't 18 months old. If an album older than 18 months had enough sales to enter the 200 chart after having already dropped out of the 100th position, it would chart on The ''U.S. Billboard'' Catalog Albums. "Till I Loved You" is a song from the never-staged musical '' Goya: A Life in Song'', based on the life of the Spanish artist Francisco Goya. It was written by American composer Maury Yeston. The original was sung by tenor Plácido Domingo and American singer Dionne Warwick. It was subsequently released as a single by Domingo with another collaborator to the album, Jennifer Rush.
