Paseo De Aguas
The Paseo de Aguas is a promenade located in Jirón Madera of Rímac District, Lima, Peru. It was built between 1770 and 1776 by List of viceroys of Peru, Viceroy Manuel de Amat y Juniet. Located nearby are the Alameda de los Descalzos and the Plaza de toros de Acho, Acho bullring. It has the Spanish Colonial architecture, colonial part of the main arch and remains of the side wall dating from the Viceroyalty of Peru, 18th century, as well as gardens, fountains, games and waterfalls. It was remodeled in 2014. History Initially it was called ''Paseo de la Carbona'' by List of viceroys of Peru, Viceroy Manuel de Amat y Junyent, its main promoter. The project included a waterfall, which was modeled on an existing water feature in Narbonne. Parque De La Reserva
The Parque de la Reserva (English: ''Park of the Reserve'') is a park located in downtown Lima, in Peru. Built in an irregular shape, it is located between two of the city's principal streets, the Paseo de la Republica expressway and Arequipa Avenue. History It has an area of eight hectares and is built in a neo-classical style. It was designed by the French architect Claude Sahut and is home to many sculptures built by Peruvian artists. Before construction, the land on which it is located belonged to the nearby Park of the Exposition before the area between 28 de Julio Avenue and Larrabure y Unanue Street was built over. In 1926 construction was commenced as ordered by the president Augusto B. Leguía. Eugenio Courret
Eugène Courret (1839 – 1920), known as Eugenio, was a French people, French photographer who was based in Lima, Peru. Biography Courret was born in Angoulême, the son of François Courret and Calixta Chalet. Courret came to Lima in 1860 to work as a cameraman in the photographic studio of Eugène Maunoury. One of his subjects was gay chef Juan Jose Cabezudo. In 1863 founded the "Photo Central" studio with his brother Aquiles. In 1887, he founded a studio with Adolphe Dubreuil, and in the 1890s, he returned to France, where he continued his photographic work. The Courret studio went bankrupt in 1935, by which time it housed more than 150,000 Negative (photography), negatives. Many of the creditors received these glass negatives as part payment in lieu of the money they were owed. Among those who received such payment was the Rengifo family, who kept 54,000 plaques. Maria Micaela Villegas Hurtado (28 September 1748 – 16 May 1819), known as ''La Perricholi'', was a Peruvian entertainer and mistress of Manuel de Amat y Junyent, Viceroy of Peru from 1761 to 1776. Their son, Manuel de Amat y Villegas, was one of the signers of Peru’s declaration of independence from Spain on 28 July 1821. Life ''La Perricholi'' was the sixth child born to Don José Villegas and Doña Teresa Hurtado de Mendoza. Born in either Tomayquichua (in the province of Huanuco) or the capital city of Lima, she was baptized at the Lima Cathedral on December 1, 1748. Manuel Ricardo Palma Soriano (February 7, 1833 – October 6, 1919) was a Peruvian author, scholar, librarian and politician. His magnum opus is the ''Tradiciones peruanas''. Biography According to the official account, Manuel Ricardo Palma y Carrillo was born on February 7, 1833, in Lima, inscribed as the son of Pedro Ramón Palma and Guillerma Carrillo y Pardos, possibly his grandmother.
