Pasco High School (Florida)
Pasco High School is a high school in Dade City, Florida, United States. Kari Kadlub is the current principal, and Catalina Fernandez, Eshonda Swackard, Allison Taylor, and Aaron Melvin serve as assistant principals. History Pasco High School originated from the earliest school in Dade City, and is the first high school in Pasco County. This first school in Dade City held classes at the Baptist Church in the town. According to a speech delivered in 1921 by a local historian, the second location for the school was a second floor room above a storefront, just south of a cigar factory. After that, a local Masonic Temple was used for classes. Finally, circa 1899, the first purpose-built building for the school was erected on land donated by the S. A. L. Railroad. It was in this building that the high school held classes, having been founded about ten years earlier in 1889. Dade City, Florida
Dade City is a city in and the county seat of Pasco County, Florida, United States. It is located in the Tampa Bay Area. The population was 6,437 at the 2010 census. Dade City is popular with tourists for its antique stores, restaurants, and historic architecture, including the Pasco County Courthouse, Hugh Embry Library, and Edwinola. The annual Kumquat Festival is hosted downtown. The surrounding area produces the tart kumquat, a citrus fruit eaten whole, as a commodity crop. Wayland Eugene Nelson II (born December 3, 1960), is a former professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues from 1981 to 1993. After beginning his career as a starting pitcher with the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners, Nelson gradually converted to a relief role starting in 1983. He was a key member of the ace relief staff that helped propel the Oakland Athletics to three pennant-winning seasons from 1988 to 1990, frequently setting up Dennis Eckersley for his saves. Alfred Joseph Ivie IV (born January 22, 1995) is an American football defensive tackle for the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League (USFL). He played college football at the University of Florida.
