Pasadena Motorcycle Club
The Pasadena Motorcycle Club is an American motorcycle club known, from its founding in 1907 through the 1970s, for sponsoring events such as enduro and hare and hound races, and, since the 1980s, for street riding, poker runs and charity events. Formed on May 20, 1907 in Pasadena, California, the Pasadena Motorcycle Club was called by '' Rider'' magazine the third oldest in the US, in a tie with the Oakland MC, also formed in 1907. The older clubs are the Yonkers Motorcycle Club, formed in 1903 and the San Francisco Motorcycle Club, 1904. The Club was active through World War I and World War II. The PMC has had several clubhouses before moving into the current Howard Street location in 1946. The PMC is a family club, not an outlaw motorcycle club. Motorcycle Club
A motorcycle club is a group of individuals whose primary interest and activities involve motorcycles. A motorcycle group can range as clubbed groups of different bikes or bikers who own same model of vehicle like the Harley Owners Group. There are a great many brand clubs, i.e. clubs dedicated to a particular marque, including those sponsored by various manufacturers, modeled on the original brand club, the Harley Owners Group. Enduro
Enduro is a form of motorcycle sport run on extended cross-country, off-road courses. Enduro consists of many different obstacles and challenges. The main type of enduro event, and the format to which the World Enduro Championship is run, is a time-card enduro, whereby a number of stages are raced in a time trial against the clock. Time-keeping enduros In a traditional time-keeping enduro, riders leave together in groups or rows, and each row starts at a certain minute. The object of the event is to arrive at pre-defined checkpoints according to a strict schedule. Early or late arrivals result in the riders' scores being penalized. Throughout a day there will also be allocated periods for refuelling and servicing the machine. Motorcycle racing (also called moto racing and motorbike racing) is the motorcycle sport of racing motorcycles. Poker Run
A poker run is an organized event in which participants, usually using motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, horses, on foot or other means of transportation, must visit five to seven checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Having the best hand and winning is purely a matter of chance. The event has a time limit, however the individual participants are not timed. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the record for the largest event was set in 2009 with 2,136 motorcyclists benefiting the Fallen Firefighter Survivors Foundation (FFSF). The record for the largest single venue event was set in 2012, with 586 motorcyclists raising money for Prostate Cancer research in Ottawa, Canada. Yonkers Motorcycle Club
The Yonkers Motorcycle Club originally started as The Yonkers Bicycle Club and was founded on November 19, 1879. The Yonkers Motorcycle Club was formed in 1903 in Yonkers, New York by President George "Usco " Ellis. George Ellis was married January 25, 1916 to Miss Louise Smith of Yonkers. George "USCO" Ellis was appointed State Commissioner for New York of the Federation of American Motorcyclists in August 1915. The Yonkers Motorcycle Club served as a civil defense messenger service during the earlier part of the 1900s delivering messages to various government officials throughout the country. An article taken from the Boston Daily Globe March 11, 1921, titled Cyclists Return After Call on Vice President, describes the journey that George A. Outlaw Motorcycle Club
An outlaw motorcycle club is a motorcycle subculture generally centered on the use of Cruiser (motorcycle), cruiser motorcycles, particularly Harley-Davidsons and chopper (motorcycle), choppers, and a set of ideals that purport to celebrate freedom, nonconformity to mainstream culture, and loyalty to the biker group. In the United States, such motorcycle clubs (MCs) are considered "outlaw" not necessarily because they engage in criminal activity, but because they are not sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and do not adhere to the AMA's rules. Instead, the clubs have their own set of bylaws reflecting the outlaw biker culture.
