Partysquad
The Partysquad is a Dutch DJ production team. It consists of Jerry Leembruggen, Ruben Fernhout and Lorenzo Biemans. Since the early 2000s they have had 12 singles charting on the Dutch Top 40. They produced part of British rapper M.I.A.'s fourth and fifth albums, ''Matangi'', released in 2013, and '' AIM'', released in 2016. Career The Partysquad started producing in the hip hop genre, collaborating with many Dutch rappers. In 2006, they released a hip hop album titled ''De Bazen Van De Club''. The album spawned 6 singles between 2006 and 2007, all of which charted on the Dutch Single Top 100 chart. The song "Rampeneren" with Ali B and Yes-R also peaked at No. 4 on the Dutch Top 40. "Wat Wil Je Doen" was featured on the soundtrack of the 2005 Dutch comedy film ''Het Schnitzelparadijs''. Matangi (album)
''Matangi'' is the fourth studio album by British rapper and singer M.I.A. It was released on 1 November 2013 on her own label, N.E.E.T. Recordings, an imprint of Interscope Records. M.I.A.'s longtime collaborator Switch primarily handled ''Matangi'' production; Hit-Boy, Doc McKinney, Danja, Surkin, and The Partysquad provided additional contributions. The album was recorded in various locations around the world and featured uncredited input from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Its title is a variant of M.I.A.'s real first name and references the Hindu goddess Matangi. The lyrics feature themes related to Hinduism, including reincarnation and karma, and the music blends Western and Eastern styles. "Original Don" is a song by musical project Major Lazer and the Partysquad from their 2011 extended play of the same name. It was released as a digital download on 4 November 2011. The song charted in the Netherlands. Background An undished version of "Original Don" had surfaced on the Internet months before its official release. The song's initial cover artwork was inspired by the fictional character Don Draper. Music video A music video to accompany the release of "Original Don" was first released onto YouTube on 8 December 2011 at a total length of two minutes and forty-two seconds. It features an American family, dancing around carrying various blade weapons. Diplo makes a cameo in the video. ''AIM'' is the fifth studio album by English rapper and record producer M.I.A. It was released on 9 September 2016 by Interscope and Polydor Records in the UK. Prior to its release, the rapper claimed that it would be her final album. M.I.A. worked on the composition and production of the album with a range of collaborators, including Blaqstarr, Diplo and Skrillex. The Opposites
The Opposites are a Dutch rap group, consisting of rappers (Willy) and Twan van Steenhoven ( Big2). The two started rapping when de Bruin had to write a rap for his teacher as a punishment. Willem realized his rap potential and decided to continue rapping, together with friend Twan van Steenhoven he became addicted to Hip hop, so they say. The name The Opposites is a reference to the fact that Willem is short and a person of color, whereas Twan is tall and white. Diplo
Thomas Wesley Pentz (born November 10, 1978), known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ and music producer. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer, a member of the supergroup LSD with Sia and Labrinth, a member of electronic duo Jack Ü with producer and DJ Skrillex, and a member of Silk City with Mark Ronson. Mad Decent
Mad Decent is an American record label founded by Diplo. The label has helped introduce Brazilian baile funk and Angolan kuduro to clubs around the world. Recently, it has popularized moombahton, a genre of electronic dance music created by DJ Dave Nada. The genre on the label was mostly popularized by Dillon Francis after collaborating with Diplo on Francis's 2012 track "Que Que". Nick Leonardus van de Wall (; born 9 September 1987), better known as Afrojack, is a Dutch DJ, music producer and remixer from Spijkenisse, South Holland.
