Partnership For New York City
The Partnership for New York City, formerly called the New York City Partnership, is a nonprofit membership organization consisting of a select group of nearly three hundred CEOs ("Partners") from New York City's top corporate, investment and entrepreneurial firms. The organization was founded by David Rockefeller in 1979, with the aim of working closely with government, labor and the nonprofit sector to enhance the economy and maintain New York City's position as the global center of commerce, culture and innovation. It merged with the New York Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2002, forming the current organization. The Partnership focuses on research, policy formulation and issue advocacy at the city, state and federal levels. Through its affiliate, the Partnership Fund for New York City, the Partnership directly invests in economic development projects in all five boroughs of the city. David Rockefeller
David Rockefeller (June 12, 1915 – March 20, 2017) was an American investment banker who served as chairman and chief executive of Chase Manhattan Corporation. He was the oldest living member of the third generation of the Rockefeller family, and family patriarch from July 2004 until his death in March 2017. Rockefeller was the fifth son and youngest child of John D. Rockefeller Jr. and Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, and a grandson of John D. Rockefeller and Laura Spelman Rockefeller. New York Chamber Of Commerce And Industry
The New York Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1768 by twenty New York City merchants. As the first such commercial organization in the United States, it attracted the participation of a number of New York's most influential business leaders, including John Jacob Astor, Peter Cooper, and J. Pierpont Morgan. The chamber's members were instrumental in the realization of several key initiatives in the region – including the Erie Canal, the Atlantic cable, and the New York City Transit Authority. Kathryn Wylde is an American executive working in the non-profit industry. Since 2011, she has been the President and CEO of the Partnership for New York City, a non-profit that advocates with the city and state government on behalf of large businesses and their ultimate bottom line. The Partnership is funded almost exclusively through membership donations from over two hundred and fifty corporations in the city. Her work at behest of these entities has been noteworthy throughout the last decade. In a late 2020 interview, she billed herself "the lone defender of the billionaires at this point". Brad Hoylman
Brad Madison Hoylman (born October 27, 1965) is an American Democratic politician. First elected in 2012, Hoylman represents the 27th District in the New York State Senate, covering much of Lower and Midtown Manhattan in New York City. He is Chairman of the New York State Senate Judiciary Committee. Early life Hoylman was born in West Virginia, and grew up in rural Lewisburg, West Virginia.
