''Partners'' is a 1932 American Western film directed by Fred Allen, from a screenplay by Donald W. Lee. The film stars Tom Keene, with Nancy Drexel and Bobby Nelson in supporting roles. It made a profit of $30,000. Plot Dick Barstow owns a horse ranch. When he comes upon a traveling salesman, Carry-All Roach, and his grandson, Bud, being harassed by Chet Jarvis, he intervenes, breaking up the incident. He invites the salesman to his ranch to recover. Dick is visited by Mr. Morgan, his daughter, Jean and Jarvis. Both Dick and Jarvis are attracted to Jean. Jarvis purchases a gift for Jean and sees the large amount of cash Roach has. Roach loans Dick $1,500 after he learns Dick owes Mr. Morgan. The next day, returning to his ranch after paying off Mr. Morgan, Dick finds Roach dead by the side of the road, and Bud injured. Fred Allen (film Editor)
Fred Allen (December 16, 1896 – May 22, 1955) was an American film editor, and occasional director and writer. Born in Petaluma, California, Allen was active from 1921 through 1955, and is credited with editing over 100 movies. In silent films, he worked with Mack Sennett and Thomas H. Ince, and appears to be most active at Republic Pictures and RKO Radio Pictures. His seven directorial credits are all Westerns. Billy Franey
William Gerald Franey (June 23, 1889 – December 6, 1940) was an American film actor. Born in Chicago in 1889, Franey appeared in more than 400 films between 1914 and 1941, mostly playing comedic roles. He was an actor of disheveled appearance and fuzzy mustache, usually in a suit a couple of sizes too big. His late career included numerous uncredited appearances in classics like ''Bringing Up Baby'', and he also appeared as the father-in-law of Edgar Kennedy in several of his series of short comedies. Fred Burns (actor)
Fred Burns (April 24, 1878 – July 18, 1955) was an American actor who mainly appeared in Western films. He appeared in over 265 films before his death in 1955. Biography Fred Burns was born on April 24, 1878, in Fort Keogh, Montana. For six years, he was in charge of Buffalo Bill Cody's ranch near Cheyenne, Wyoming. He " broke" wild mustangs for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. He traveled with Buffalo Bill's Wild West show, and later with the 101 Ranch Wild West Show. Burns was a roping champion for five years in the early 1900s. By 1916, he had moved to Hollywood to work in movies full-time. He appeared in 23 movies between 1921 and 1930, and 91 movies during the sound era. He also was in charge of the stock at Fine Arts Studios. Burns died in Los Angeles, California, on July 18, 1955, at age 77.
