Partido MAN
Partido MAN is a political party in Curaçao founded in 1971, which has two of the 21 seats of the Estates of Curaçao after the Curaçao general election of 2021. In the elections preceding the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles the party gained two seats as well and joined the coalition government. Name MAN originally stood for ''Movementu Antia Nobo'' (English: New Antilles Movement), but a party congress in 2005 decided to drop that meaning and let MAN be the name of the party in itself. Hensley Koeiman
Hensley Felix Koeiman (born 21 May 1956) is a Curaçaoan politician who served as the 6th Prime Minister of Curaçao between 23 December 2016 and 24 March 2017. A member of the Partido MAN, he was Minister of Social Affairs, Employment and Welfare in the Gerrit Schotte cabinet (October 2010 – September 2012). Afterwards Koeiman served in the Parliament of Curaçao from the 2012 general election until his appointment as Prime Minister. Since 29 May 2017 he has been Minister of Social Affairs, Employment and Welfare in the Eugene Rhuggenaath cabinet. Career Koeiman was born in Wacawa, Banda Bou, Curaçao, on 21 May 1956. 2016 Curaçao General Election
General elections were held in Curaçao on 5 October 2016, having been postponed from 30 September due to Hurricane Matthew. A total of thirteen parties participated. Electoral system The 21 members of the Estates are elected by proportional representation. Parties that won seats in the previous elections are allowed to participate, whilst primary elections are held to determine which other parties can run, with parties required to receive the equivalent of 1% of the vote at the previous elections in order to participate. 2012 Curaçao General Election
General elections were held in Curaçao on 19 October 2012. Early elections for the Curaçao island council were necessary as the Cabinet- Schotte lost its majority in the Estates of Curaçao. The elections were the first of the Curaçao after obtaining the status of country ( nl, land) within the Kingdom of the Netherlands upon the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010. The election saw six parties obtain one or more of the 21 seats, with Sovereign People and Movement for the Future of Curaçao both winning five. Eunice Eisden
Eunice M.D. Eisden (born 22 September 1961) is a Curaçaoan politician. She was Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao between 23 December 2016 and 13 April 2017. She was succeeded by Leendert Rojer. Eisden is a member of the Partido MAN. In 2009 she served as party leader in the Estates of the Netherlands Antilles. She was leader of the Partido MAN list for the 2010 Curaçao general election. Eisden obtained a seat in the Estates of Curaçao (2010–2012). 2010 Curaçao General Election
Island Council elections were held in Curaçao on 27 August 2010. Early elections were necessary because the island council failed to approve a proposed new constitution with a two-thirds majority in the first reading. Before it could be adopted by a simple majority in the second reading, the Charter for the Kingdom of the Netherlands specified that a general election had to be held. Although the elections were held for the island council of Curaçao, its newly elected members automatically became members of the Parliament of Curaçao when Curaçao became a constituent country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 10 October 2010.
