The Parti équitable was a political party in the Canadian province of Quebec. It was founded shortly before the 2012 election, where its leader Yvan Rodrigue, ran in Lévis. Rodrigue stepped down as leader in 2013, and was replaced by Patricia Domingos. Domingos, a former candidate for leadership of the Green Party of Quebec and Mayor of Sainte-Justine-de-Newton ran in Soulanges in the 2014 election. Citoyens au pouvoir du Québec ( en, Citizens in Power of Quebec) is a Minor party, minor political party in the Canada, Canadian province of Quebec. The Party gave its support to the Anti-mask movement during the COVID-19 pandemic and was accused of having ties with far-right group La Meute. Platform The main policy point in the party's platform is the creation of a constituent assembly via Sortition, random draw which will help "give freedom to citizens to decide on the type of society, state and government they want". The National Assembly of Quebec (officially in french: link=no, Assemblée nationale du Québec) is the legislative body of the province of Quebec in Canada. Legislators are called MNAs (Members of the National Assembly; french: link=no, députés). 2012 Quebec General Election
The 2012 Quebec general election took place in the Canadian province of Quebec on September 4, 2012. Lieutenant Governor Pierre Duchesne dissolved the National Assembly on August 1, 2012, following Premier Jean Charest's request. The Parti Québécois were elected to a minority government, with Pauline Marois becoming the first woman to be Premier of Quebec. The Quebec Liberal Party took second place, with Premier Jean Charest losing his seat. The newly formed party Coalition Avenir Québec led by François Legault took third place, while Québec solidaire took 2 seats out of the 125. Lévis is a provincial electoral district in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada. It includes all of the city of Lévis north of Autoroute 20 and east of the Chaudière River. The Green Party of Quebec (GPQ) (french: link=no, Parti vert du Québec; PVQ) is a Quebec political party whose platform is the promotion of green politics. It has not won any seats in the National Assembly of Quebec. Its platform is oriented towards promotion of green values, sustainable development, and participatory democracy. The Green Party of Quebec is a coalition of activists and citizens for whom environmental questions are a priority. They believe that the government should help in creating a green, just, democratic and equal society. Sainte-Justine-de-Newton () is a municipality located in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. The population as of the 2021 Canadian census was 947. The municipality is situated on Route 325 south of Très-Saint-Rédempteur, just east of the Ontario border. History In 1805, the geographic township of Newton was created, likely named after Newton Abbot in England. In 1845, the Township Municipality of Newton was formed, but abolished in 1847. In 1855, it was reestablished as the Parish Municipality of Sainte-Justine-de-Newton, combining the names of the parish and the geographic township. In 1865, its post office opened. Soulanges (provincial Electoral District)
Soulanges is a provincial electoral district in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Saint-Lazare, Saint-Zotique and Rigaud. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada). Its final election was in 1936, and its successor electoral district was Vaudreuil-Soulanges. It was re-created for the 2003 election from parts of Salaberry-Soulanges and Vaudreuil. 2014 Quebec General Election
The 2014 Quebec general election was held on April 7, 2014 to elect members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The incumbent Parti Québécois which had won a minority government in 2012 was defeated by the Quebec Liberal Party under Philippe Couillard who won a majority government of 70 seats, while the incumbent Parti Québécois finished second with 30 seats, becoming the first single-term government since Jean-Jacques Bertrand's Union Nationale government was defeated in 1970. Pauline Marois electoral defeat marked the shortest stay of any Quebec provincial government since the Canadian Confederation. 2018 Quebec General Election
The 2018 Quebec general election was held on October 1, 2018, to elect members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The election saw a landslide victory for the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) led by François Legault, which won 74 of 125 seats, giving the party a majority and unseating the Quebec Liberal Party. The Liberals became the Official Opposition with 31 seats. This election was the first won by the CAQ, which had previously been the third party in the legislature.
