He is known in Gujarati Cinema for hit songs ''Aasmani'', ''Thai Jashe'', and ''Soni Gujarati Ni''. He co-produced 2020 Romantic Gujarati movie Golkeri. Background Gohil was introduced to classical music by his great-grandfather and father. Aged 10, he began lessons with Smt. Bhanuben Solanki, Smt. Dakshaben Mehta, and Shri Laxmipati Shukla, a disciple of Omkarnath Thakur. Aged 14, he won the Pandit Omkarnath Thakur Competition, which was followed by the state talent search competition. Tanpura (instrument)
The tanpura (), also referred to as tambura and tanpuri, is a long-necked plucked string instrument, originating in India, found in various forms in Indian music. It does not play melody, but rather supports and sustains the melody of another instrument or singer by providing a continuous harmonic bourdon or drone. A tanpura is not played in rhythm with the soloist or percussionist: as the precise timing of plucking a cycle of four strings in a continuous loop is a determinant factor in the resultant sound, it is played unchangingly during the complete performance. The repeated cycle of plucking all strings creates the sonic canvas on which the melody of the raga is drawn. The combined sound of all strings–each string a fundamental tone with its own spectrum of overtones–supports and blends with the external tones sung or played by the soloist. Anil Krishna Biswas (7 July 1914 – 31 May 2003), professionally known as Anil Biswas, was an Indian film music director and playback singer from 1935 to 1965, who apart from being one of pioneers of playback singing, is also credited for the first Indian orchestra of twelve pieces and introducing orchestral music and full-blooded choral effects, into Indian cinema. Omkar Prasad Nayyar (16 January 1926 – 28 January 2007) was an Indian film music composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, and musician.
