Parser (programming Language)
Parser is a scripting language developed by Art. Lebedev Studio used for web development and server-side scripting. The reference compiler for the language was developed in C++ by studio employees Konstantin Morshnev and Alexander Petrosyan to automate often repeated tasks, especially maintenance of already existing websites. It was used in many web projects of the studio. In March 2006, revision three was released as free software under a GPL license and it is now used in other websites, mostly in Russia (according to a partial list at the language website). Originally, Parser was merely a simple macro processing language but revision three introduced object-oriented programming features. The language supports technologies needed for common web design tasks: XML, Document Object Model (DOM), Perl Compatible Regular Expressions (PCRE) and others. The Internet Server Application Programming Interface (ISAPI) is an ''n''-tier API of Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft's collection of Windows-based web server services. The Document Object Model (DOM) is a cros s-platform and language-independent API that treats an HTML or XML document as a tree structure wherein each node is an object representing a part of the document. The DOM represents a document with a logical tree. Each branch of the tree ends in a node, and each node contains objects.
