Santhanam (actor)
N. Santhanam is an Indian actor and producer who mainly works in Tamil cinema. Beginning his career as a comedian on television, he rose to fame through his performances in STAR Vijay's ''Lollu Sabha'' enacting the lead role in spoofs of Tamil films. Isaivani (born 1996) is a gaana singer from Chennai, who performs with The Casteless Collective. In 2020 she was recognised for her achievements with one of the BBC 100 Women Awards. Biography Isaivani was born in Royapuram in Chennai in 1996 to Sivakumar D and Selvi. Her father, a self-taught keyboardist, encouraged her musical ability and singing from a young age, encouraging Selvi to sing to Isaivani and her brother while they were in the womb. Rokesh is an Indian lyricist working on Tamil language films, who specialises in song lyrics containing Madras Bashai. Career Rokesh worked as a machine operator in the Parry's area of Chennai and had established a reputation for being a gana songwriter in his local area, Vyasarpadi. Rokesh was first introduced to K. V. Anand & Harris Jayaraj by Kiran, who worked as the art director for Anand's film ''Anegan'' (2015). The director - music director duo gave Rokesh a list of 150 words of North Madras specific vocabulary for reference and explained the situation for a song, and Rokesh returned with the final version of "Danga Maari" during the next day. He has since gone on to write songs for other films including ''Maari (film), Maari'' and ''Vedalam'' (2015). Harris Jayaraj (born 8 January 1975) is an Indian composer from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He composes soundtracks predominantly for Tamil films, while also having composed for a few films in Telugu and two films in Hindi. He has been honoured with Kalaimamani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Life Time Achievement Award from Konijeti Rosaiah, the Governor of Tamil Nadu. Gaana
Gaana (or Gānā) is a genre of Tamil music, which is sung in the Madras Bashai dialect of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is rap-like "collection of rhythms, beats and sensibilities native to the Chennai people." It evolved over the past two centuries, with influences ranging from the ''siddhars'' (tantric adepts) of ancient Tamilakam to rural Tamil folk music to Tamil sufi mystics.
